Is there a downside to buying Test in bulk? I saw a vendor with a 100ml option pretty reasonable. I would assume most guys transfer to smaller vials for regular use to avoid puncturing the top too many times. Is there anything I’m missing?

I only know of one source with 100ml vials. Even so, a decent stopper will survive 100 pokes. Just don't use something asinine like an 18g to draw MCT.

I looked into this previously when reading through the filtering thread. I vaguely remember concerns over the spike degrading but might not be applicable to Test C. Appreciate the tip

Dunno if it would still be cost saving, but why not just transfer it into new vials as needed? Saves the # of stabs on the big boy.

I don't recommend vial spikes, especially not with something that you're probably going to use for months. Transfer to smaller vials instead. There's a thread whereby we soaked stuff like spikes and syringes into low solvent oils and none of the shit can handle it. None of them were designed to handle it. Even if it looks fine, nobody really knows what's leeching.
We got some action already. It looks like the satilite dish part is starting to laminate off with these strings. I know it is not a part of the internals or what actually touches the oil but worth noting. A few fell right off after I agetated it this morning:
Now, you can see here, that type of plastic is starting to "corrode" (cloudy parts) or break down. It looks like sun damage on an old vehicle when it sits in the sun for too long:
You can see the whole inside of the spike up into the housing looks degraded:
Big difference...

Long as it’s stored well I don’t see any downside if you are transferring to reduce punctures. Even with a smaller gauge the less you are poking it the better. Why not take the caution side. Should keep for a long while. Math that out a 100ml would last a while if you are cycling like a reasonable person. But I’m not a vial spike fan personally. Lots use them though.
