What should be checked on a blood test

I personally want to get it done to see if I can improve it through dietary/supplementation, Im depressed with low energy, motivation and low libido. I also assume I may not have unoptimal thyroid because I always have cold feet no matter the weather

and also while making this thread I wanted to ask something about my parents blood tests, when reading them my mom and dad had slightly elevated cholesterol and ferritin in the lower end of the ref range, what supplements can I put them onto to lower it, I was thinking of omega 3s, citrus bergamot, coq10

also last thing, ever since puberty I been having slightly elevated alp, which after doing a bit of research, I saw it can happen from having growth spurts so I didnt worry about it, but then looking at my moms blood test theres also slightly elevated alp (I am 18 rn btw)

also I posted it on here as steroid users need to get frequent blood work so I just assumed there would be a lot of knowledgable users on this topic in this section.

@Tbaz192

I remember seeing your thread on ferritin so I thought to tag you
What is alp? Do you mean alt like in liver function tests?

As a rule you shouldn't do random blood tests without a reason too. Besides just general checkups.

Low energy and body temperature are very vague. Can you be more specific with symptoms.

Also I'm just a stranger on the internet. So how can we know that your feelings/sensations are not subjective and related to mental health/lifestyle.

Thyroid and testosterone are not trivial things to mess with. As much as I am a fan of steroids they are serious drugs that can and will cause permanent changes to your body and your brain. I'd never touch thyroid personally unless a doctor was directing it.

CBC, CMP, Lipid are the most cost effective and important. Even more important though, is simply checking your blood pressure. Do it right, and do it often. Cholesterol is largely genetic. The best thing you can get them to do is lower saturated fat intake, exercise, and maintain a healthy body composition. Statins are the most effective intervention by far, and there's entire threads on them you can look at.

At your age, and being natural, bloodwork isn't really necessary beyond the yearly check up covered by insurance. Please don't waste money on 100 OTC supplements. Omega 3 if you don't get enough through diet, vitamin D, and an optional multivitamin. If you have actual health issues, like high cholesterol or high blood pressure, pharma intervention is what's effective. Talk to your doctor though, they know your history. You clearly are mindful about your health, so you probably already know the basic lifestyle choices: exercise, lean body composition, whole food diet, and sleep.

Edit: You can do a thyroid panel too, but I doubt that would be the only present symptom. I really have no advice on the ferritin. Not something I've really researched. Your problems all seem so multifactorial that you need to talk to people that actually know about your life.

The blood assay that is relevant to a steroid user is not necessarily the same as a natural person. Depending on your lifestyle there are different risk factors. Being that you are only 18 years old, and should not necessarily have any cardiovascular or organ issues caused by anabolics, you probably really only need some regular panels. Hormones, blood count, minerals, lipids, liver and kidney function. If things are abnormal or if you still feel bad, please get to a doctor.

Like someone else said, playing with a thyroid while in a developmental stage is a very bad idea.

I also want to add, my wife has a thyroid issue since she was younger and it takes a lot of medical care and oversight from a doctor I manage. So if it is that you need to get offline and into a medical facility.
