Raising HDL - any supplement brands that actually move the needle?

Unless there is new data out, there is nothing to show that raising HDL improves cardiac outcomes. We don't want it in the gutter for long periods of time (if that were the case we'll all run anavar year round), but decades of literature in cardiology all come to the same conclusion, which is to get LDL as low as you can for as long as you can. Search some of Ghoul's posts / references on this subject. If you're planning to use anything more than HRT, you are likely (genetics play a role here) to have your HDL low. Mine runs low at baseline and goes lower on PEDs so I keep my LDL very low (last check it was in the 30's and that was on test, tren, mast, anavar cycle). You also want to track your Lp(a), APoB, and HsCRP. If those metrics are all favorable, the low HDL becomes less and less relevant. Again tho, we don't want it in single digits, which does happen on things like tren + orals.

TLDR, don't chase your HDL - if anything, get aggressive with keeping LDL as low as possible.

I don’t blame him and the other elders for bouncing. This place is getting ridiculous with all the tiktokers and Reddit asshats. Luckily the search function is there and we can dig up the old posts.
I'd really appreciate it if Meso implemented an age restriction like other forums. Isn't fool proof but It'll at least weed out the dumbest of them.

I don't know why they are here. There are other very well known source boards that are perfectly fine for their needs. No actual discussion about health, harm reduction, longevity, or anything else. Just a marketplace.

Very underrated, but supposedly moderate alcohol consumption can increase HDL by up to 15% IIRC. My father drinks 1-2 glasses of red wine daily and has a HDL and LDL in the high 50s.

My cardiologist told me this was bullshit and that even 1 to 2 glasses of ETOH daily have a more deleterious impact on health than a few points of HDL. Not saying he's right, just relaying what he said. Also it's been my experience that even 1 drink is enough to fuck with hydration, sleep, etc. I find alcohol to have zero benefit for our lifestyle, but everyone is different and doesn't mean i'm correct. Just sharing thoughts.

Last time I did a lit review, and I confirmed this with a lipidologist, there is no compelling data to support that anything beyond weight loss / light cardio and increased fats in the diet (if you are eating trace fats) with EFA supplementation can raise HDL in a meaningful way. It's largely genetically determined and the action is with LDL, get that low as you can for as long as you can. Also, there is such a thing as pro-thrombotic HDL sub-particles. So just raising HDL you don't even know if you're doing anything beneficial.

Mate I'm 100% with you. I dislike alcohol very much. And with new research coming out we find that HDL is not that important when compared to low LDL, low TGs and low ApoB.

I said supposedly and added an anecdote from someone close to me, I do believe sometime in the future some kind of statin will come out which will raise HDL, which Cardarine and SLU-PP-332 do to a certain extent so we might not be that far off.
