UFC 116 Discussion

So what did you guys think? I'm a lesnar fan, but I respect carwin he def. has the best hands for a guy his size. Lesnar is just a beast no one else could have taken that beating from carwin. And that arm triangle was serious!

Yeah...thanks LK...

I was actually disappointed in that fight... I would expect a little guy to go for a submission... but not Brock! WTF...

And when he got pounded I was like HOLY SHIT! The commentators took the words out of my mouth... He had NEVER been on the receiving end of a ground and pound until then...

It started off like a good fight but the end was a let down... I guess he had to go with what was safe... not sure he could take him toe to toe...

They should rematch...

(AND there is NO WAY those two aren't running gear)

Im sure there will be another fight between them, these guy's are dana's cash cows. I've been a Lesnar fan since he joined the UFC and Im a huge UFC fan myself. Brock is just a beast of a human being all around. As i said in my post earlier Carwin has the better set of hands, but lesnar is the better all around beast. Carwin will continue to be Lesnar's toughest opponent. He has dominated everyone so far, and it's rumored that his next fight will against Cain Velasquez.....Brock will crush him hands down. I'm sure Lesnar will come back even badder because unlike some other fighters, he actually learns from his past mistakes and you never see him repeat them. He just learns and gets better. Plus his actual conditioning is ridiculous for a guy his size,

Brock is a beast, he took a beating, came back and of all things got Carwin in a submission, not a ground n Pound which was impressive. He needs to get a boxing coach and not run away when someone throws punches or absorb them with his face.

Not sure why you aren't talking about the best fight of the night though, Leben fight was INSANE! And to think he fought 2 weeks ago is even more impressive.

Lesner is an absolute freak of nature. I mean, c'mon, the guy looks like a fucking mutant. I love this sport. Brock is probably the most gifted athlete to ever step into the octagon, due mainly to his size/speed ratio. NO ONE can move as quickly as brock can. And he's just SO STRONG. It's truly unbelievable. Props to Carwin, he's got the best hands of any heavyweight in the world right now. But he can't match Brock's wrestling.

It's common for people who don't understand the sport to claim that someone is being a bitch by moving away, when they are being punched in the face but this is a part of fighting. The person who wins a fight many times is the person who is able to control WHERE the fight takes place. Brock is able to do that better than anyone in the world.

Clearly.

:D that was like something out of a Japanese anime, with the red haired maturing gringo bad boy n the japanese pop-star/martial arts, the blizting transitions, Leben hanging off the guy's leg n beaten down b4 pulling off the submission.

poor Carwin gassed in 1 very fearsome round, n Lesnar proved he's got a chin.

I felt that was a great fight for Lesnar who I am a fan of. I told my wife before the fight I hope he wins but he does need to be humbled because this isnt the WWE. I thought for sure the fight would be called when he was taking that beating, props to the ref to recognize that Lesnar still had fight in him. Once he went down it was clear Brock HAD to take Carwin to the ground. He does not currently have the skills to go toe to toe with Carwin. Brock also has insane conditioning for a man of his size, which Carwin clearly needs to work on because he was clearly gassed going into the second round. Lesnar even said after the fight that he was feeling less and less force with ever punch as the round went on.

A rematch should be scheduled right away but unfortunately Carwin will have to have a couple more wins to get in contention to fight him again. Meanwhile Lesnar will fight more scrubs that he will mop the floor with in the meantime. I know this guy isn't UFC, but I'd love to see Lesnar fight Alistar. I think that'd be a great match-up.

This was an awesome fight and if you rewatch it. Brock blocked a good deal of those punches that were thrown at him on the ground. He wasnt as out of it as people think. His knee's didnt buckle when he fell he jus didnt know how to take the great shots by Shane. On the ground rewatch and you will see he was covered up. The ref said move and he moved. A guy almost knocked out doesnt lift a 265lb man off of him and pin him to the cage.

On a side note. I still love Shane... he just isnt Brock!

I'm not sure if Lesnar vs Alistar would be that good of a fight. Alistar is big and has punching power, just don't think the rest of his skills would match up.

Not a good match up at all. If they want someone to take out Brock they need a submission expert. Antonio Minotauro would be his down fall.

Alistar def. roided mad hard! He jumped a whole weight class. Lesnar would still turn the lights off though. I'm a huge UFC fan in general so I like this situation because now I get to see both Lesnar and Carwin flatten people for a while....and then eventualy a rematch in about a year. Carwin will always remain Lesnar's greatest opponent, hes a beast too. They say the next guy in line for Lesnar is Cain Velasquez. Lesnar will have his way with him G&P style. Any other predictions on that fight?

LK the Leben fight was crazy though....props to him

Seriously??

ummmm

You ever hear of a guy named Frank Mir?? He was pretty well versed in submissions I think. Brock is too strong for minotauro. Minotuaro is too old for Brock. Brock is too strong/fast and too well versed on the ground to be dealt with by anyone I've seen to date.

Carwin is the closest thing to brock kryptonite I've ever seen, on any given day I think Carwin can beat Brock. It's all about who controls where the fight takes place.

Brock will either lay on him and beat him into submission or beat him until Cain gives up a stupid submission. two roads. One destination. Brock wins.

Did you guys see how fedor lost in his last fight? Brock would chew him up and spit him out!
