hammer grip vs normal

I always feel a deeper burn/feeling like its working more when using a traditional grip. Although, I have noticed I experience more growth when I primarily stick to hammer grips. I think its just a matter of genetic disposition. Some areas of muscle grow with very little stimulation so by changing grip you achieve this. You have to try it too see.
 
the reason i ask is because i have rc issues, i try to keep my elbows at about 45 degree angle and press them to the top to activate the chest more so to get the most bang for my buck.. will this be acceptable and limit the extent to which it hits the triceps>
