I agree. But how long before the future arrives? Bitcoin-only sources have a big task ahead to train customers to do this especially when all their competitors are taking Western Union and credit cards.

Steroid buyers aren't sufficiently paranoid. And surprisingly neither are sources.

Many people in positions of influence within the community have a "if it aint broke don't fix it" mentality as opposed to striving for best practices.

Our friends down under have more pressure on them so they have elevated their security practices. As the pressure on traditional methods increases locally so will the security practices.

Bitcoin is growing in popularity. As time goes on more people will know how to use it. It's not difficult to use and offers significant security benefits for both a client and seller of goods. There are countless youtube tutorials demonstrating how someone can use it to effect payment.

The FBI is concerned about it catching on.

I apologize for violating the link rule in my last post. I didn't do it intentionally.

It helps Bitcoin when the FBI recognizes the threat (and even provides tips on how to use bitcoin more anonymously!)

No worries on the link rule. The purpose of the rule is to avoid giving any 'google juice' to any sources. Some sources spam forums with links - even when memberships responds negatively - simply to gain incoming links to their website that search engine algorithms will reward with improved search engine results.

I agree, the well referenced guide the FBI put together is handy. I've read it a few times. The document doesn't strike me as a disinformation campaign either.

Yessssir. The first time I heard about bitcoin was when silkroad was discussed here.
Back in the mid 2000's I used that gold thing....I can't remember what it's called right now but the guys behind it got jammed up I believe by the feds?

I believe you're referring to E-Gold. They got the hammer put down on them.

That's it! I'm a "junior gold something or other". I lost a few bucks in that whole thing as I had an acct I used for nefarious dealings.
