Amateur Cyclist

No, just local amateur events that dont test. I did an experiment last week with a small taste of test E with a friend. I felt like I could push harder, recover faster, and I noticed a big increase in muscle size. My main goal is strength and endurance without adding weight. After doing a little research, EQ and EPO seem like better options but they seem so much more expensive.

Ive been changing my sleep and changed diet to non processed foods, lean meats, lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, no dairy. This has proven to be costly in itself but Ive seen a BIG difference in my energy levels and how I feel. I was eating nothing but junk for years.

What is the cheapest way to go about using EPO or Bold and would it be worth it? Im on a budget but am lined up with a better job soon.

Its not like Im pro but I did like what the test e did. Are there any safe pro hormones out there that act like EPO or Bold but are cheaper? Thanks guys, you rock!

When did you take that test e inject?

It would take approx.. 2-4 weeks for you to notice anything....

I was in the cycling game for some time... As well as other endurance sports.

Stay away prom PEDs unless you have a full time doc. Especially with EPO. I have seen a lot of bad things happen.

Train hard and eat right. Biggest thing I can recommend is lose weight.
Power to weight is key. The competitive guys weigh in the sub 140 mid 130's.

Your train rides should be no less than 3-4 hrs. Unless your running tempos.

Use Strava... It's a great training tool for the amateur. When you get your pro card... Then contemplate PEDs. By then... You will see WADA will be up everyone's ass that it isn't worth it.

This is probably why so many amateurs are using - it's much easier to get away with it.

As far as testosterone use by cyclists, I wonder how much of an advantage is provided. According to Tyler Hamilton's book, the USPS team started off using Andriol gelcaps then advanced to testosterone patches. But they microdosed. At 11pm every night, they applied a patch for approximately 2 hours and then removed it. This allowed them to pass controls the next day. How much of an advantage does this amount of testosterone give? It may facilitate recovery but do little to actually enhance performance. I basically consider AAS a "recovery drug" in cycling.

absolutely concur.

the OP more than likely… if he injected inside the 2 week window… was seeing a placebo effect.

unless using a short ester… test is useless. As you said the doses would have to be very low to not be detected.

for an amateur… where testing is unlikely. Primo and Var would come to mine. More primo if its legit.

however, as i have said earlier… AAS is counterintuitive to endurance sports… power to weight is everything!

Thanks Millard for a great response.

Beezil I know we've talked about this stuff before. I stayed on my bike all summer while running test/mast and then var.

No noticeable difference on the bike, recovery was definitely better though. Once I was on the var for a few weeks trouble started. I now fight almost debilitating pumps whenever I'm climbing.

thats how var effects me too… as well as large doses of test.

mast… doesn't effect my cardio or endurance.

the issue is… you are using AAS and cycling more as a recreation.

when you start competing… AAS will harm you. as your weight increases.

a 170-200lb rider will get smoked by a sub 130lb rider. look at more than most professional or pro card riders… their upper bodies are like stick figures…

i also concur that recovery is faster with AAS.

Right as usual Beezil.

I'm like you. 5-10, 220. I ride in a race group once a week. Just finished for the season. There's cat 1,2 pros in the group. They are training races. Not sanctioned. I don't talk peds with any of them, it's not my business, but they are Tiny. Opposite of bodybuilders with body dysmorphia. Almost like ballerinas about their weight. Every pound counts.

I barely keep up with them. I can draft and keep in the peloton, and I have strong ass legs so I can sprint, but put me out with the leaders and I am smoked. Left in the dust.

I generally finish in the back of the peloton every week and I feel good just doing that. I do it more for the cardio. They are training for actual events. I avg 19-20 mph riding solo. These guys are at least 25 mph.

I'm just as impressed with what they do as I am with the powerlifter who benches 600.

I'm 5'10" 210,… i feel ya.

when i was hitting the bricks… i was 150. i couldn't stop running or swimming. work was the limiting factor… but the lightweights still walked away.

my brother is just like the guys you talk about… counting calls and watts. and dreaming of his next climb.

He just raced the leadville 100 a few weeks ago. said it was one of his best leadvilles. I forgot to get his place…. but his weight was 138lbs. before the 8 hour race.

mikes bikes supplies great coaches and docs to keep their team in top shape…and podium finishes…

DYS,

another thing you may want to give a go… my bro and I have real good success with this… for speed.

Moto Pacing. use a motorcycle to draft off of… your cadence will be high as well as your speed. you can really crank em.

boring for the moto rider… but great fun for the cyclist.
