10ml vial - Any pharmacies refusing to fill?

My Dr writes the script for 1 10 ml vial. Pharmacies walmart, costco, cvs, walgreens as well as smaller ones started switching to giving me 10 1 ml vials years ago.
Usually for the same price although that is starting to change, with higher prices being more the standard when paying out of pocket.
Manufacturers came out with a statement a few years ago recommending against multi use vials. I used to argue to get the 10 ml vial and would wait for it to show up but i don't any more as i can see them being phased out.
For a few years pharmacies would only give me 2 1ml vials per month(28 days actually) when i got them though my insurance. Till i pointed out that they were single use vials. Then they started giving me 4 vials a month.
Although i know they were still only giving others 2 vials a month.
But that is a good businesses plan as i told them as it gets more people to come into the store more often so they are liable to spend more money.

My doctor always writes 10ml multi use vial, and I always get 4 single 1mL vials per month. The 1mL bottles are overfilled so I make out on top. Although if I ever travel for work or vacation (fly) and want to add other oils in the bottle.... 1mL bottles do not cut it.

I find there is about 1.1-1.15 ml in each 1 ml vial. According to my insulin syringe.
I am guessing 10ml vials are not equally over dosed, but have never tried to find out.

Well, one thing I have discovered is that there is not as much volume in a 1 mL vial.

LOL

This is important if I am trying to be exact. Draw, draw, oh, crap, I pulled a little too much. In a 10mL vial, that has never been a big deal. Just reverse course and push. Fixed. In a 1 mL vial, however, I discovered that any push results in an equal amount of vegetable oil running out of the vial, down the syringe, and all over my hand.

My own experience over the years is it all comes down to the pharmacist and/or pharmacy technician that's working and their own personal opinion of how it should be handled. My Dr. has always written my Rx for a 10mL vial, what I've gotten are:
- 10 x 1 mL vials
- 4 x 1 mL vials
- 1 x 10 mL vial

I continued to change locations until I found a pharmacist that would dispense the 10 mL vials and just keep going back there.

Every pharmacy I used (Walmart, Walgreens, cvs) only distribute 1cc vials although my doc writes it for “10cc + 2cc”. I’ve only been able to get 10cc vials if he calls in to a compound pharmacy.
This happened to me this last time, for the first time. CVS— been using for years. Always a 10ml vial. Only filled (4) 1ml vials. Called Dr back after I finished.. let her know.. she said well it was for 10ml, I can’t write you another script. Sure as shit, 4 weeks on the spot, they allowed another refill for the remainder. Odd. And sucks!! Why I’m also subbing with my own 250mg/ml 10mL vials from ugl. God forbid they knew, they’d shut me down lol.

I stopped using pharma since it was 3x the price of ugl gear, but when I did if I was self paying they would give me a 10ML vial. When using insurance they would only dispense 30 days at a time.

My pharma test is 9 bucks per 4ius, so it’s cheaper for me than ug stuff. My doc only has me on 100mg a week but I run 200mg so I sub out ug stuff with pharma for a while until I stock up enough to run straight pharma for a while. I go back to 100mg about a month before my blood tests

Mine is also cheaper too, but honestly hate cotton seed oil. 10 bucks per script.

My pharma was $9 for 10mL. Need to ask them about it, because it’s been $7 for the 4 little 1mL vials. Doesn’t make sense. It’s all a scam!
