Hello everyone.
Just joined and need to see if anyone can help me out here. At the age of 22 I was diagnostic with cancer. I had a tumor inside my chest the size of a grape fruit when the doctors found it. I was into workout at the time. I went from 200lbs down to 108lbs when I started chemotherapy treatment. I had what they called a port put in my chest; it's where they would inject the chemo, for about a year. Well after sitting on top of my right side chest muscle my right side chest muscle has been damaged in that area. So another words my left side chest is normal and now my right side chest is flat. I'm 34 now and have been working out for the last 10 years since this has happened. But no matter what I do my right side will not grow in that area. It's SUCKS!!!! I've been told that growth hormones would redevelop my muscle there. I could even try going to doctor route.

Anyone have any insight to this subject or knowledge on growth and how it works. And if this is true as far as rebuilding my damaged muscle????

Thanks everyone in advance....

Regardless of all the advice (good or not) you get here. Go to a doc! If it can help you can easliy get a script for it.

Argh, that sucks dude.

Some guys claim they get increased specific muscle size when injecting a certain type of roid, but I forget... do some research, I would but am out of time today (might be able to help tomorrow)

What do you mean "in that area" exactly? Right at the port? That's damaged, fewer fibers exist, or are you talking the whole pec?

Your kinda stuck, but if it's seriously a matter of aesthetics, and is important to you (no problem with that here, we all gotta go to the beach), there is another solution.

A guy in Britain, I think, and no doubt others, sell oil you inject into the muscle. That stays about a month or so, and makes the muscle look huge. It's not real muscle, but if you inject carefully at the right spots, it's pretty amazing. Do a google search on oil, muscle, injection, etc.,... you'll come across it.

It's also in a lot of muscle mags. Seriously, that sounds like your best shot... if you've lifted for 10 years, dude, that muscle isn't going to grow.

Unless... you suck at weight lifting... doing whimpy weights and stuff, but I'm assuming you have some real muscle from what you said, no insult intended... I lifted 15 years before I found out how stupid I was and started growing.

Good luck man

Thanks guys for all the input. I will definitely look into this. As far as your question with the port. The right side of my chest there's no muscle tissue where the port was placed for that year. It's like it just ate the muscle away. To give you an example I would say I have about a quarter of a pec on the right side. I'm training now with a body builder. I would say in may past, not really wimpy weight lifting, and no insult taken, I did grow but just not in the right side chest. But now I'm training with this guy, wow, I'll be in the best shape of my life. But I just have to figure out what the hell to do with my issue, if there is a resolution for it. I do have to count my blessing though, during the cancer there was a time when the doctors told me that I could die in the next 3 days, well that was 12 years ago, I'm now cured. Cancer is only in my past now!

Wow... harrowing experience dude, I salute you.

you might want to consult with a plastic surgeon too. They might be able to pop an implant in there to even out the sides. Saw something like that a few days ago on Discovery Health Channel.

Yeah, just glad to be here! I thought about the inplants but if there's a way to have really muscle once again I would like to go that route first. Then if nothing comes out of that I'll go the inplant route. Well at least I wouldn't have to work out chest anymore if I did....LOL :D

After all you been through you still find the silver lining. You are an inspiration man. Let this be a lesson to all of us who get so wrapped up in our BS to realise how sweet we got it.

Dude I hear ya! Once I was told that I could die within 3 days your life REALLY does flash in front of you. Since then my life has been totally different. I look at life in a different way since then. You don't take things for granit anymore. Your life is what you make it! And I still had it easy compared to some people out there!

Well I'm glad to hear that there's some good people on this site...thanks for all the input people.

Sinserley,

One lung!

LOL...that's been a little nick name some of my best friends gave me. Because another part of what I was left with from cancer was from the radiation for the tumor it scared my right side lung as well. So I get out of breathe really easy too. So they started calling me one lung....

Talk to you guys later, I outta here for the day!

Geez... if I ever complain about sore wrists again, someone slap me.

Bro that should have been your screen name :) . I'm glad you're healed and hope that God continues to bless you.

You may wanna PM Swale (he's a MD) or post this over in the HRT forum. I know he deals with hormone replacement, but he may know another doc that you can contact who has dealt with this before. Hope all continues to work out for you! Peace.

Damn Bro. You'd think the Docs would put you through physical therapy or something. That really sucks. You may want to consult your doctor concerning that. They can write a perscription for that and your insurance will pick it up, providing they haven't dumped you yet (the bastiages)...

PEACE BRO.

First off,,,Forget the GH precursors and stimulators,,,They really don't work,,,Have you tried doubling up the amount of reps on that side when you work with dumbells???You know theres a difference between strength training and BBing???You can grow greatly in strength with little or no growth,,,So working out with that BBer could really help,,,Definitely find a therapist that has dealt with this before,,,Swale might be able to refer you to someone as was said earlier,,,With God all things are possible,,,I'm mentioning you to my Father right now,,,VDC

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning to talk to him about all of this. So I will let everyone know what I find out and what he says.

VDC- to answer your question, I've tried doubling up, doubling down, flipping it, rubbing it down oh no! And nothing, there's basiclly no muscle there to grow. I'll have to take some pictures and post them to show everyone what I'm talking about.

one lung!
