5x5 Questions

Well I am starting training again tomorrow after taking a 2 week break. Going to start 5x5, but I have a few questions.

I am using the "Tribute to John Smith" thread and http://www.deepsquatter.com/strength/archives/manrodt4.htm as references to 5x5. Both are similar yet somewhat different.

Questions:

Should I do any auxiliary exercises whatsoever? If so, which and also how many reps/sets?

The deepsquatter article has deadlifts Mon/Fri while the Tribute thread has it for Wed only, which is better?

Should there be a 2-3 minute rest between every set, even the lighter first sets?

Why not squat/dead/bench for all 3 days?

Thanks.

Do the program as outlined in the Tribute thread, not the deepsquatter thread. JS is THE authority on the subject. Not only has he personally coached hundreds of elite athletes through that program, but he personally knows Bill Starr, the original inventor. Don't deviate.

Take as much rest as you need to do the work. If you need a minute, take a minute. If you need 5 minutes, take 5 minutes.

If you only squat, bench, and deadlift you'll develop strength imbalances that will cause you problems. Namely rotator cuff issues. Also, its too strenuous for most athletes, especially at your ability level, to deadlift 3x a week.
