So I may have a training partner? Older dude, early 50's.

Still competes. Looks ripped every day and twice on sunday. We been conversing here and there. He lends me advice and such. Today he flat out asked me to train with him. He says he sees some thing. Wants to trim me up. We'll see. Dude is probably an encyclopedia of knowledge to look the way he does at half a century?! Any way I always train alone maybe it would be good to have a mix up
 
With a training partner you will be "training to failure" you always have to "get one more rep" don't want the other guy doing more!

You can't beat experience. He will have you squatting 600lb & weighing 250lb @ 8% bf.
 
Maybe so. Im MUCH stronger than he is. I always see him with light weights. I figure I could benefit from his perspective an AAS strategy and he wants to lean me out. Hes pretty cool guy. I looked him up to. Its legit. He and his wife both compete on a fairly large scale. Seen stage pics and pretty damn impressive. Maybe we'll train together soon. He was the one who asked ME. Im sure there's SOME THING I could learn from a dude of such experience
 
Up at 0200. Had to go in to work an hour earlier than normal. :(

Scrapped my entire back routine today in favor of some thing fresh.

Started with wide grip pulldowns then
Vertical hammer rows
barbell bent rows
seated rows
straight arm pulldowns for touch added.

Tri's
close grip bench 225x8 4 sets
machine extensions 4 sets

I got good contractions all workout. Performed vertical hammer rows single armed. REALLY dig that new addition!

Really taking a nice change recently. My physique that is. Im starting to see things I always dreamed about. People notice too. I got my rhomboids poppin like crazy. Veins are coming to the surface more. That nice bulky look. Im up 2lb as of today :). Minimal water gain if any. Lean bulk is in full effect. Very surprised at the miracle of the human body!

I feed my body precise foods and TELL it what to do. Intense exercise that leaves me breathless and often wincing after an excruciating burn set. It just listens and responds. What a riot. Having the time of my life. Stomach is flattest its been in years and im bulking? Haha. The body is amazing.

I notice now people are trying to compare themselves to me haha. They'll line up next to me and add more weight and do half reps in an attempt to impress. Try glancing at me awkwardly. Pretend they didnt make eye contact. Any way I notice these things now. Never had those when I was out of shape
 
I dont deadlift any more. Well I did the other day just to see If I could. Warmed up and pulled 405 no problem. But thatll be it for another 10yrs :)

I have a herniated disc and deadlifting regularly WILL break me down

Recently tried max in squat, 425. Bad form allowed me to fail on 455 but I got the leg drive for it. The lumbar is the issue

Bench. No idea. I haven't attempted a max in at least a decade. My last max on bench was about 2002ish I was still in high school. I got 315 then. Im MUCH bigger now so it must be higher.

Other than pure numbers I dont find one rep max useful at all in BUILDING muscle. You do realize Arnold couldn't press 405. According to Rick Draisin any way. Wouldn't you say arnold had awesome pec development?

As long as im respectable in my numbers I couldn't really care less what my big 3 are. And I mean that
I'm starting to take your approach trukker. Tendonitis, bad shoulders, and a weak back are making max efforts not worth it any longer. Ten years ago a 365 bench wasn't an issue, but now anything past 275 kills my elbows and shoulders. At my strongest max efforts I weighed about 200lbs and was at least 15% BF. Now I'm 230 and 14%, look much stronger, but aside from squats can't push nearly the max effort I used to. I'm ok with that as long as I look good :)
 
Its funny how that works ain't it? You look stronger when you lift less weight. Hmmm I wonder how that works lol.

Dont get me wrong weight you move certainly matters. Cant be a weakling. But a 1rpm has about slim to none effect on your physique. Once I let that sink in I made serious progress

All through the years I never believed in lifting light. I always thought the heavier the weight, the larger muscle growth. Now I look around the gym and see a handful of really big, really cut guys in their forties. They none lift as heavy as I do, and I haven't been lifting real heavy as is. Most of what those guys do is focused around Dumbbells as well. They don't hit the barbell work very often. One of these guys sat and watched us bench one evening. He is about my height(5' 11") or maybe touch shorter, awesome build probably 230+ guessing bf in 8-9% range. I asked if he wanted to work in, and he said no that he couldn't lift that kind of weight. T in talking, he has same issues with bad shoulders and bothersome elbows. Said he can't do heavy weight anymore, yet he is built like a champ.
 
Hungry as hell today. Ive already ate my lunch chest clean of all my regularly prepared foods. I still have my noon meal left. Goddam it wont stop.

Im gonna have to make a pit stop and reevaluate my diet today. Pick up some chicken sando's or some thing. This is ridiculous. I cant stand being so hungry.

How is that possible? I eat enough in one meal to make 2 guys puke and im still hungry?

This hit me a while back, and hasnt let up, I've been able to digest almost 2300 more calories per day. Results are coming quick now for me as well. Keep it up rubber duck!

When it first hit me, I had just eaten 10oz of chicken, then i ate my next meal, and was so hungry 20minutes later i was ready to rinse of my left work boot and eat that thing still laced to my foot. I'm guessing your right ~ deca.
I just put down 900 calories writing this, going back for more, my waist is the only thing not moving the tape so I'm just going to try and keep up! [emoji6]

The machine is hungry. Lol Isn't it funny how we spend more money on food than the actual gear itself while on or even off cycle. I'm always hungry an tired of eating the same ol shit but we gotta do what we must in order to see any improvements.:)

I'm the truck waiting my turn to load, and I'm reaching for my second shake, which will be my 4th meal.... My poor toilet...
How's your bodyweight, climbing steady i assume?
 
Guess ill start upping carbs. My protein intake is already high.

Any body know how much some one my size can actually absorb and use (protein)?

Up 2 lb overnight.
I been purposely trying to keep weight low and force my body to burn fat. Not drastic tho. A very nice lean bulk
