A Southern Yankee's Winter Blast

Thanks for the suggestions. And your all right. I gotta pick one and specialize as my main mass builder. Barbell squats are very bad for my lower back. It seems the volume that gets me. Not so much the weight. I get the same issues with 20 rep squats at light weight as I do with 400+ lbs
 
There's a plate-loaded squat press machine at my gym that's much like a leg press but the motion is more like a squat than a linear leg press. I liked this machine as well.

I know what your talking about and we had one of those at my old gym in Alaska . They work great too . The point is if your having back problems , doing more bb squats might not be the best idea , at least for a month or two.

Plus you can build different parts of your legs untouched before .My teardrops are definitely bigger/stronger after hacksquats .

That's the same one I have at my gym...it's brutal as fuck indeed! Got to 325x3 on it but now got to 185x6 post knee injury

No shit!!? I'll ask the waitress next time, but I just order from menu. Never paid much mind to the hand cut option, but will next trip. I think 38oz would be just right. My last trip to longhorn last winter I shocked the crap out of our waitress. Got a 24oz steak(biggest they offered) added appetizer, broccoli and cheese, baked potato, and 9oz lobster tail. She laughed at me thinking I ordered too much, but she balked when ole lady offered to bet her I would eat it all. I ended up eating all that and finishing her steak lol.

your lower back is weak. you need to strengthen your lower back.
