After speaking with much more experienced brewers ive been told, "dont melt your raws, a melted raw is an oxidized raw."

Seeing my 250ml bourbon test cyp uhhhh makes me think thats true l
It's just not a good idea, dissolve it in BA and BB with heat, then add warm oil.
To prevent potentially oxidizing the raws?

Do you like to warm the dissolved product while filtering?

Interesting.

Like I posted above, it doesnt look as bad once its bottled.

Because a lot of these guys don't know what they are doing and being taught on here how to do wrong.
I genuinely got sad when he first posted that. If I am wrong, please just explain why. But please keep your emotions in check, I understand the shock when you see something you shouldn't. Even the sticky in in the homebrew section says heat to 200-250f (which is excessive for many raws). Read up on if these compounds degrade when melted - they don't. Degradation comes from heat + oxygen + time.

Why would you try it with 500ml?

I don't really understand.
I didnt. I did it with 250ml.

I then made another batch of 250ml using the usual way ive always done things and it came out fine.

I still filtered 500ml (250ml x2 separately) in a short period of time.

I left the oil on the warmer at 30° C, and added it to the bottle top ~100ml at a time. Keeping it fairly warm so it would filter faster. I also changed media bottles for the two batches.

I think it came out fine tbh. Just one of them is a little oxidized. Looking at it in a 10ml vial it looks like its just a few shades off. Similar to how some gear ive gotten over the years looks tbh, especially the Axle stuff from a few months ago.

I am curious about its content so I might send for testing just to see if oxidizing it GREATLY or just slightly diminishes its mg/ml. Especially because I have two otherwise identical batches.

I am going to ask the admin to delete that post. I'm sorry @dick_starbuck, I had no clue it could lead to this.

In my defence, I don't think it has anything to do with melting raws at their melting point. If that was an issue, then all equipoise would be shit. Also, my test e bottles from PPL, would be bunk - which is not the case. PPL sold test e in plastic bottles of 50g. It then solidifies into a whole solid piece, so you have to heat the bottle to pour out test e. Why did those raws not turn dark or have potency issues? I think the issue is in these particular raws, and more specifically, the batch you received.

Also, if you were to do as the vendor recommended, 60c for an hour or what they said, you would have pitch black shit lol.

Im not blaming you at all!

I am only sharing my experience with "melting" the raws during brew process.

If this method works for you then by all means keep doing it. Others may find that it works for them also.

Perhaps I let it "melt" for too long? Or Perhaps my thermometer isnt well calibrated and it was TOO high?

I just wont be doing it again.

Hey man I understand the frustration, I would be pissed off too if that happened to me without expecting it. I am not offended by the other remarks anyway.

I'm truly sorry if what I posted caused damages, but please help me understand what is wrong, so I can for myself learn from my mistakes. Embedded is a picture of some of my vials.
In order;
1) trest ace 30mg/ml in GSO,
2) cyp 200mg/ml in GSO
3) primo e 200mg/ml in EO
4) NPP 100mg/ml in EO
5) test e 200mg/ml in EO
6, 7, 8) mast e 200mg/ml in EO
9) nandrolone d 400mg/ml no clue carrier but this is from 2019
10, 11, 12) test d 300mg/ml in EO
13) tren 100mg/ml in EO, this is also old and has turned dark
In brewing all of these, I always melt the raws first at their melting point.
The point of a solvent system is to put it into solution and keep it there. Why melt the raw to the point of possible oxidation and risk possibly degrading it for no reason? Let the solvents do the work and a little heat to help get there. The problem with shit raw that doesn't go to dissolution is more from the impurities that aren't effected by the solvent/heat at a normal temps. Solubility does not change on TC, the shit attached to TC changes the solubility.

Does anyone have any methods of bringing back tren that turned very dark? The color was fine after brewing, but after a few months, it’s turned extremely dark.

Did they copy your 99% raw purity COAs?

It's probably something to do with the solvents.
I wouldn't think too much into it.
