? about changing doc

SWale, My doc does not seem to concerned about my estrogen levels (or any other level for that matter). He did initial test and started me on androgel and then never did another follow up blood work. I did the gel for 3 months then have just ended a 3 month cycle. He is now leaving the office where I go for primary care and I will be seeing the other doc. I am thinking of letting her know that I am not satisfied w/ the way my TRT has been handled and would like a referral to an endo. Do you think that is a good idea?

He has also given me some misinformation. He tried to tell me that the gel was less toxic than inj. I called the andro company and asked there opinion on this and they said, tho they have not directly compared the two they should be about the same as they both bypass the first pass thru the liver. He also did not know what cypionate was.

My 2 cents is that if you do not have the confidence in your current practioner, it is time to change. I am a patient of SWALE and highly recommend his services.

I have considered his services and I think have talked w/ him thru email. But roght now it is covered by my insurance and money is very scarce right now. I would def like to switch down the road when things look better.

Sounds like you have a Plan that restricts the doctors you can see. I had an HMO and switched to a PPO which allows me to go outside the network. Swale's fees are so reasonable that the virtual consult is not that much more than copays and the prescription coverage/labs reimbursement is in effect for out of network providers and that is where I am spending the money. So, if you do not have the option, perhaps your MD will consult with Swale. It is my personal opinion that when it comes to TRT and what can affect my endocrine/hormonal balances, I want an expert. Good luck.

I previously trained doctors on behalf of the maker of Androgel, and they definitely compare IM test cyp to Androgel. It looks as though you talked to someone at Solvay who is not very knowledgable. I have found this to be true as well, which is why I do not represent them anymore.

You need to follow Bioavailable T, Estradiol, and DHT with any transdermal. For injectables, it is not so important to watch DHT. And PSA, too, if you are over 40.

TRT is not "cycled". Not unless the doctor prescribing it does not know what he/she is doing.
