does anyone else get those popups that say you may have adware or spyware on your computer. should i worry about this or not?

Those popups are actually the result of spyware.

The company wants you to purchase a service or product that will fix it right?

My advice would be to download adaware, it will scan your sytem for these things and clean them out.
You can also go to alot of other websites and use thier software. They usually just take af ew minutes to use.

Adaware is on of the ones Id recomend though.

zone alarm will block the pop up but won't remove the source of the problem.

Also spybot search and destroy http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10194058.html?tag=lst-0-1 is a must to have in addition to adaware as one catches trojans that the other doesnt and vise versa. It is free and the most important thing about both pieces of software is to update them right after you download them and do so every 2 weeks also spybot has an imunize feature that you should activate after you update. Install the google toolbar if you have window 2000/me/xp and you will never see another popup and it has a great auto fill feature that fills in forms for you.http://toolbar.google.com/ If anyone has any questions feel free to pm me and I will help with any questions. adaware is sweet just make sure to update it regularly

www.webroot.com , has a scrubber for the hard drive available too. But has spy ware sofware that cannot be beat, and for an extra 10 bucks they'll send you the download and the disk in the mail.
