Alcohol and Body Composition

I don't normally drink anymore. However, last night I met an old friend and had exactly 2 Blue Moons and 2 NA Blue moons over the course of 3-4 hours. Also had some wings and a salad. Currently taking 5 mg Tirz along with my current TRT-Cruise (140 mg/week) and 2iu GH. I don't get any appetite suppression from the Tirz anymore but it does regulate blood sugar and amazingly helps me maintain my weight right at 267/8 for months at a time with only a pound or so variation from day to day (I weigh myself daily). I was amazed at this morning's scale so I thought I would share:

I realize most of this gain is water retention and inflammation but...5 lbs in one night? I think I'll avoid alcohol all together from now on. Can't believe I used to be a regular drinker and what it must have done to my body, physique and health.

Anyway...for what it's worth.

I stopped years ago too. Alcohol is poison. Despite moments of the media declaring "It's good for you" based on shady "science" over the last few decades, it turns out none of it is. Not red wine, not "one drink a day", none of it.

Pot, the current "Cure all, harmless, miracle drug" is going to be the next "What the fuck were they thinking?" substance. Scientists who've been studying it for 40+ years have been muted and left shaking their heads at the proliferation of use and denial of harms clearly proven by mountains of evidence.

Agree 100%. All about the money

The beer likely spiked E2 and had you hold some water. Ironically, if you were drinking something like vodka / soda you likely would have diuresed yourself to the point of being lighter the next day.

Agree with everyone above - ETOH is fucking poison. During my 15 year hiatus from PED's I drank fairly heavily. Not often, but when I'd be out to dinner it would be martinis, fancy wine, etc. Felt like shit, looked like shit. Just awful.

Haven't had a drink in ages and don't plan to ever have one again. Redeeming qualities = 0.

I do think there are some cultures who will continued to drink themselves to death, and it would not surprise me in the least if the large spirit conglomerates were doing everything in their power to block / slow / prevent the adoption of GLP-1 drugs in the markets they operate in. Those are the dagger to ETOH and lots of other addictions / compulsions.

Yeah I'd also suspect water retention and definitely inflammation as well.

Quitting drinking over 4 years ago was one of the best decisions I've made in my life....for body composition, internal health, getting things done, making it to work on Monday haha. I can't imagine having even one drink now. I enjoyed it at the time but in hindsight I was rationalizing it. The bad simply far outweighs the good nowadays. I will have a non-alcoholic beer a few times a year with friends or while on vacation.
Agree on the pot too.
