Alflutop cycle

I intended this primarily to aid shoulder recovery, even though the studies have mostly been done on hip and knee problems. I figured it couldn't hurt the arthritis in my knees which the docs have told me is very advanced. My shoulder being mostly healed, I decided to run the Alflutop anyway and see what it can do for my knees.

The usual protocol is for 10mg (1 ml) for 21 days. I plan to do it for 20 days, since that's what I have. I ordered another 20 amps, though, just in case.

Just to outline the knee pain. I get the standard arthritic knee ache after almost any physical activity. Squats have improved that over time, but there's still enough pain to make me down ibuprofen on a regular basis. I also have some "scaling" on the left side that causes intense calf ligament pain after leg workouts, bike rides, etc. I had the same problem on the right around 10 years ago, but had it corrected with surgery.

So the goal is to see if Alflutop can reduce my knee pain, and maybe prompt some cartilage healing as the studies apparently say (but not in English!).

When I got home from work, the stuff was waiting for me, so I went ahead and pinned my first dose. I used a 1/2" slin into the delt. I didn't quite get all the Alflutop out of the amp, but I will hopefully get better at that over time. This stuff is water based and very thin. I felt nothing at all going in.

Other info: currently on 500mg Test E and 750mg Tren E. That runs until the end of Oct. I don't think this will impact knee issues. It never has in the past. I was on GH (Geno) until fairly recently, but the numb hands were getting to me. I doubt I'll restart that during this cycle.

@ Flenser I wounder if this with my situation I have a bone spur from a cracked knee. I still do all my regular work outs. Most of the time I good but there is always a deep arthritis pain lingering. Especially in the winter.

I had a bone spur in my heal once. Felt like I had glass in my foot. I hope your spur isn't like that PI. I think I would give up squats!

I'm familiar with that deep arthritis pain. I get a constant ache in both knees, especially the day after a heavy leg workout. Can't sit at my desk for more than 20 minutes. I have to get up and stretch the joints constantly.

Second pin, not much to report. There does seem to be some anti-inflammatory properties to this stuff that kicks in right away. Nothing miraculous, but I forgot to take any ibuprofen after pause squats this morning. Normally my knees would remind me, but not today.

Pin five. Just want to mention the anti-inflammatory properties I thought I was feeling must have been imagined. I did heavy dead lifts yesterday for the first time in several weeks after tweaking my back. My knees always ache after deads, since the angle they are at when I begin the lift is exactly where they hurt the most.

I was expecting some relief from the alflutop, but nope. I can even see the swelling in the tendons on the upper outside of the knee (whatever they are called). Icing them now like I should have done yesterday. It's only day five of a three week cycle, so I'm not discouraged yet. Just didn't want to leave my last post without remark, since I know it's inaccurate.

do Dorian deadlifts instead of full deadlifts. Dorian deadlifts isolate the back muscle more.

I do those as well, though not on the same day as dead lifts. It's more of an accessory I do with light weight and high vol. I was thinking of switching to sumo deads at some point. The knee angle is slightly different, so it shouldn't hurt as much - at least not at first, heh.

End of first week - 7 total injections.

Knee pain is definitely less than it was last week. It's not a huge change, but it's more than I can explain away with just placebo effect. Heavy (to me) squats yesterday (singles at 475) pretty much had no effect on knee pain. I still have knee pain, just less than usual.

Dead lifts (again this morning) still cause pain and swelling. No noticeable change there.

I should mention NOT doing squats makes my knees hurt more than doing them regularly. Some people in the gym suggested taking a few weeks off while I did the alflutop, to avoid constantly abrading the parts the alflutop is supposed to be healing. I may go that rout on a second cycle if this one doesn't produce lasting results.

I consider Deadlifts to be more of a back workout, well not just me.
A standard deadlft when performed correctly works traps and lats as a secondary. .. but if you doN't kill your glutes and quads your form might be off. I get horrible back pumps when I don't warm up properly for the working dead sets and/or when I don't do squats every week.

when I don't do hyper extensions to strengthen my lower back. that effects my squats and deadlift.

I do squats and deads same day sundays, just squats and leg isolation wednesdays. It is a great core workout if you do deads first... once your lower back gets tired its all abs and obliques when squatting.

End of week 2. My knees are feeling better than they have in a while. Still no dramatic improvement, just a steady decline in overall pain. There's still that concern in the back of my mind that it's all placebo effect. I may decide to run this for a full 6 weeks to see if I can get any more out of it.

Deads this morning. I finally switched to sumo style to get around the pinch I get doing normal deads. I kept it light and worked on form, nothing over 365.

I have some issues getting over the bar properly at the start. It feels like the bar wants to come off the ground before I'm fully positioned. As soon as I start pushing my hips out over the bar my shoulders and back start taking on the weight. As wrong as it must look to observers, it "feels" very natural - a lot stronger than I ever felt doing normal deads.

Anyway, the knees felt fine. No pinch, and only the usual arthritic ache after I was done. Don't know if I should credit the alflutop or the sumos.

End of week 3. My knees are A LOT better than they were even last week. I don't see how the improvement can be from anything but the alflutop.

If anything I have done more knee-damaging stuff since I started the alflutop than I was doing before. For example, due to the nice weather I have been mountain biking at least 4 times a week, and that always kills my knees. I've also been squatting more the last couple of weeks, since I added in pause squats as an accessory. I pretty much end up doing some form of squat every day.

My plan is to run the next 20 10mg doses every other day, so it lasts 6 weeks. I know the "standard" approach is to dose every day for 3 weeks, then repeat in 6 months. I'm sort of hoping dosing eod will continue the (minimal) cartilage regeneration reported in the few studies I found that were in english. If the pain continues to diminish I might try to talk my doc into doing an MRI on one knee and comparing it to earlier ones.
