All Hail the new board,,,

Yeah I was creeping up on 2000 logins in about 2 1/2 years now. I like the new design. My only complaint would be the size of the pages, they only hold 10 posts, which on this board can make for some very lengthy threads. Also, I think the classifeids should be reinstated. wisdom

Well, I think this new site format sucks! I guess I am set in my ways with the old one. Plus, I couldn't log in with my old user name and password. I had to re-register. I am annoyed by this change guys!

In your "options", you'll notice there is a section to change the number of posts per page. 10 is the default but you can change it.

It's now easier for us to ban members and yes we now have IP logging and can ban by that method also.

With the number of posts being tracked instead of logins, it makes it much easier for people to know if someone has been around for awhile or is brand new. This makes it harder for a scammer to come on and act like he's been around forever.

welcome to the future

i like it....fact is the old software was so outdated it probably didnt allow the moderators to do what they needed to do in order to make the board as good as it can be.

this appears to be the newest vbulletin setup....i havent seen ths wysiwyg setup on any before......nice.

avatars, pm's, pics, banning(god forbid anyone here should need to be banned),polls, stickies, private sections.....this baby can do soooo much that meso couldnt do before.

gotta evolve....

Heretic out there still?

Board looks nice, I don't know why I never wondered before why meso didn't have a typical message board. Nice work :D
Are we going to have a classifieds section here as well, or is that only on the "old" meso? ;)

Had to bump my old 20 year old thread to feel a bit of my young self again. Please delete if it’s violating the rules.
I feel like bumping some 20 year old threads all the time!! I know it's generally considered bad form so I avoid it. But you've stuck with MESO for 20+ years and you deserve it every now and again! :D

You're one of the oldest new members I've seen. @Millard How about it :)

Post around and you'll change status man. Welcome back, hope to see you around more.
@Desibaba has been a member much longer than 20 years - we lost the forum data prior to that.

There have been a few members popping up again who have been with MESO since near the beginning. They've returned after extended absences due to life circumstance, training hiatuses, raising families, or just a break. It means a lot to me that they remember MESO and return periodically to say 'hi' with new updates.

The cool thing about @Desibaba is that he never left. He has been here the whole time! Thanks for sticking with MESO!

I've been pondering how to best recognize these truly veteran members. I have avoided bypassing the new ranking system because I want the results to be organic. Once you start making exceptions, the system starts to lose relevance. But I think this might be totally justified as a limited exception.

I think it would be cool to see a tag added for long term vets - "XX Year Member" or something.

I don't see a problem with very few rare circumstances such as one like this. For anyone involved in the OG days, they should be recognized.

Exceptions could apply to specific situations, at your discretion. The system, while designed to be fair, isn't perfect. There are some "Well known members" who really aren't around the forum, unless you look in source threads.

Millard is there a way to see when I officially signed up to the original forum? I would love to have that reflected as my Originally signed up date if possible.

Unfortunately, we lost the forum data prior to 2003. Do you remember when you first discovered MESO? Or even how for that matter (in a time before Google)?

I think there was a board called Triedia or something like that and people there posted on meso as well so I remember starting there and then ending up posting here more often. I think outlawmusle still exists but I don’t think many people post there.

It was Triedia. I met Hogg or maybe MaxRep on Triedia and he invited me over here. (I can't even remember as it's been close to 25 years)

Yeah, OLM is still around but has a lot less traffic in the posting department.

Good to see you Desi. I remember flipping you some shit back in the day when you were a really young pup. Lol

Glad to see you remained active. I fall off and on the board activity wagon depending on what's going on with work, the wife and the kids.

Been seriously toying with the idea of coming out of retirement and doing a Strongman show.. In the masters category though.

It's kinda funny that I've been calling promotors asking if they have a master's division in their upcoming shows.

The thing I remember most about shows with Master's divisions was how none of the crowd other than family members filtered over to watch them compete. I guess that's me now... only competing in front of family and friends.

How about you? What have you been up to these days?
