so apparently im one of the ones who gets severe joint pain with anastrozole. my dr recommended 1 mg every other day to keep aromatization in check. but at this dose my elbows and knees become unbearably painful. while i will be talking to him about alternatives, can anyone who has had this happen tell me what they did to resolve it? did you try exemestane or tamoxifen? or did you work on managing the symptoms and continue to use anastrozole?

You're getting sore joints most likely because your estrogen is crashed, not necessarily from the anastrozole, duh, your dr is a dumb ass prescrbing that much ,

Crashed E is miserable. Use AI as minimally as possible, and only if you actually need. Blanket dosing protocols are a wrecking ball in most.
yeah. not the first time its happened. the first time it happened was over a year ago. thought i had damaged my tendon, the dr gave me a cortisone shot. made the pain go away but seems like its unnecessary

As others have mentioned, that's an insanely high dose. I assume you're on a TRT dose of 200 or below, so you honestly probably don't really need an AI. Not only is crushing E2 harmful, there is evidence that AIs are toxic in other ways as well.

However, if you are aromatizing a great deal, .25mg anastrozole once or twice a week should be sufficient to control E2 for any dosage <200mg, to be confirmed via blood testing.

Yeah I think most are reporting extremely low E2, when it's actually crashed and not just in labs but at the tissue level, it's all out warfare. Once someone truly crashes, they'll never do it again. Like touching the stove as a kid.
