i've read a lot about how anavar is great for burning fat, can anyone explain how it works?

Anavar doesnt burn fat. Your diet does.
This is incorrect. Anavar can burn fat but the amount burned is limited.
Chuck: it's hypothesized that fat stores and where the fat is stored can be regulated by androgen levels.
There are several studies that contradict your statement. Here is one. There are plenty more.

All androgens will increase the rate of lipolysis, anavar, winny, mast and all the drugs that dry you out are deemed "cutting steroids" however they do not cut more than anything else it's just the appearance of losing more fat but that is temporary. You can cut with deca too. Tren is the strongest AAS and will increase lipolysis more than any other but ultimately it is your diet that will decide how much weight you lose.

If all androgens increase the rate of lipolysis how is that just an appearance of losing fat? You're contradicting your own self. We're talking about fat loss not dryness as steroids can cause fat loss.
