Another autoclaving vial question.

Does anybody know the difference between “ready for sterilization” vials and vials that aren’t. I’ve been using the RFS ones to save the time of having to pre wash them but they’re about twice the cost and the place I get them from is about to discontinue them. I asked the support guy if non RFS contained some kind of residue or something that needed washed out and he said no but that he wasn’t allowed to give an answer as to wether the needed to be prewashed. So long story long does anybody know if regular vials really need to be prewashed before autoclaving?? TIA

Most of what I’ve seen is that they are prewashed and you pay a helluva premium for that. You can easily do it yourself with some Alconox and a brush. Depends on how much you value your time.

And yes I always wash before using the clave.
