Another computer question re: problem playing certain wmv files

I just got kazaa lite, and then I downloaded two wmv movies. I have never had a problem playing these types with the newest windows media player (wmp), so I didn't think there would be a problem. But when I tried to play them, it said acquiring license at the bottom of the wmp screen, and then I got some popups or whatever asking me to sign up for something. I read the terms and I guess I have to pay, which I will not obviously. I closed these down and it said "ready" on wmp, but I waited a while and they didn't play. These wmv files didn't appear to be any different from the hundreds I've played before. What is going on and how can I fix this? I have the newest wmp, version 8 I think.

The only thing I can think of is that I downloaded them off of a user named kazaaliteuser@kazaalite.com or something like that, and they downloaded extremely fast, so maybe they were some of those files that you need to register for or that you can sample for a few days. They didn't look any different when I double clicked them on the search screen though. Sorry if I confused the hell out of you guys but I'm sure some of you computer geniuses will know what I'm talking about, especially if you have kazaa software. This would suck if I couldn't watch any of the wmv movies that I get. Kazaa Lite is the shit though. Help Please.

New windows media files have licenses built into them, you need Windows Media 9, which can be downloaded from Windows Update You can only play these files if you have the permissions to do it, which you most likely don't since you got it from KaZaa.
And everyone and their mother uses Kazaaliteuser, thats the "hacked" KazaaLite username that they assign.
Were these files porn by any chance?

What do you mean by the hacked user name that they assign. I see this name everywhere when I do searches. What is it. So you don't think that the new WMP will fix the problem. And yes, one of them was porn, the other was not. You got me.

Usually with kazaa you have to register a name when you sign up. Kazaa lite just lets you use the name they assign. Its not technically hacked and nothing to worry about.
Downloading the Windows Media 9 will only allow your software to receive the authentications, however you still need the permissions to view the files. If you don't have it, then your fucked. I haven't looked around at all, but I dont think there is anyway around it right now.
