The unfortunate or fortunate part is Reagan used the Taliban to break Russia it was the cost of Afghanistan war that finally bankrupted them and they had to reset.

What's to talk about? That Taliban didn't exist until the early 90's - several years after Reagan left office.

Therefore, since Reagan couldn't have been describing the Taliban during this meeting with Afghan leaders who were fighting the Soviet occupation of their country, the caption stating "Ronald Reagan meets the Taliban" and then quoting Reagan's comparison of these men to the founding fathers is actually racist. It is designed to give the viewer the impression that all Afghans are terrorists. That they are somehow inferior to Americans and couldn't possibly be the moral equivalent of the founding fathers.

This is the kind nonsense one has come to expect from illiberal liberals.

Haha CBS you are correct the Taliban was simply Afghan Rebels during those years if I am correct and believe me I can be wrong the Taliban has it origins during the early Clinton years. I do not think I remember the term until the second half of my time in service. That would of been around 93-94. I did not fact check this statement against Wikipedia.
