Another pec tear..

So.. One major, three minor. If you've been there you know the feeling....

Couple of weird things though... It's always on the negative /eccentric portion of the lift... It's never with Max weight..

My very first tear, and most severe was left side, with 330 lbs on my third rep of an 8rep set.. I pushed up the second rep easy, and on the way down for the third, I heard it rip (kinda sounds like when you rip a head of lettuce if you've never had it happen to you lol), and had to dump the weight in my lap.

The other minor tears were one on the right, one more on the left, and today, on the left.
Today was only 235 and was on the 5th rep, 5th set...still had to dump the bar and roll it off...

I can move my arm well, but I can feel the tear up under my armpit, and feel the tightness across my left pec.

Guess I'm just going to have to give up flat benching. I've never had an issue with incline or db's...

No, it's just minor. Minimal bruising and I have mobility. My first one was more serious, instantly colourful and painful.

I'll let this one rest a couple days and start rehabbing it myself.
If it does become problematic best bet is to get it fixed with surgery. Hope indeed this is a minor one.

Are you making sure your form is on point?

Yep. I've lifted competitively, been lifting for over 20 years, and I've never had an issue with maximal effort attempts.. It's always on lighter sets..

Idk... Maybe I'm doing something that's off, but Ive drilled technique into my lifts for years..

What about your grip width? Sometimes that can be causing this to happen.

Just standard questions for this type of thing on aas

Do you use any t3/clen or similar?
What's your current stack?
Where are your calories at over the last week?

Currently not on anything, except creatine/glutamine, my intra workout supps (bcaa etc). No AAS... Have my next couple cycles sitting here.

Calories are steadily 2500-2800. On cycle for bulk I would normally be in the 3200-3500 range..

I've just been training hard and doing what I do...

It's tempting to just think it's an abnormality and you're doing everything normally but odds are if something is going wrong consistently it's an issue under your control, not random.

I would at least get you to think about ruling out any obvious issues...

@JC456 this is my first tear while not running aas.

The first time it was the typical "holy shit" strength gain where my bench went from 250 natty to 350 in 8 weeks.

Yesterday was with a weight I normally rep for sets of 12 with no issue...

I always lower under control, always pause BP... From reading most tears occur because of the quick rebound most guys use off the chest... I don't do that so, if.. Unless I'm losing my back, or flaring my elbows and not realizing it..
