Another Reason Why Drug-Tested Athletes Shouldn't Use Deca Durabolin

Deca Durabolin is a particularly bad drug for the drug-tested athlete. It makes makes a steroid positive practically inevitable if the athlete is tested, even if the testing occurs several months after discontinuation.

But how long does it take for an athlete with a nandrolone steroid positive to finally test "clean." It took Kolton Houston over three years and "a lot of unsafe things" to make the anti-doping police happy.

Kolton Houston said he paid $10,000 to sit in a sauna with drug addicts for 31 days to try to sweat an anabolic steroid out of his body. A University of Georgia offensive lineman, Houston also took a pill normally prescribed for tuberculosis and had 60 ultrasound treatments to dislodge the banned substance, known as 19-norandrosterone. He tried hours of deep tissue massage, but each time his urine was tested, more than 100 times in three and a half years, the results always came back positive.

So from April 2010 to July 2013, Houston was a practice player for the Bulldogs, barred from playing in a game under the N.C.A.A.’s drug policies.

Finally, on Oct. 2, 2012, Houston took a dramatic step. A plastic surgeon made five lateral incisions across his buttocks and extracted the fatty tissues where the steroids had collected.

“I did a lot of unsafe things to myself just to play football,” Houston said.

Damn so that shit hung around that long in the fat in his body? Man that is fucked up. I guess deca has its place. I for one wont ever use it. Nice post. Very interesting.

This is why I will never run Deca. With heavy use the recovery period is absolutely ridiculous.

I'd imagine a good amount of people that run Deca finish their PCT before it even clears.

As DOC pointed out, although the serum half life of Deca is reasonably prolonged (as is HTPA suppression), depending upon the dosage used (50-150mg) from a SINGLE injection, urinary Deca metabolites (AKA the preferred PED screening test) are detectable for upwards of SIX MONTHS!
