Antibiotics: what has been your experience?

I am reading on Ray Peat forum that most disease is caused by gut endotoxins, and that a sterile gut is ideal for health.

How many of you have had positive experience after running antibiotics, and which one did you use?

Doxycycline is highly promoted on Ray Peat forum, but I wonder what’s the net effect on food absorption and muscle mass

Keflex I have on hand and it's still gtg for taking care of infection flare ups. Of course for more serious infection I get to the doc.

I'm pretty certain Cipro caused or I should say heightened my anxiety/panic attacks. I also was taking pylera a month prior so it's hard to say but regardless I'll never touch cipro again. EVER.

Doxycycline was given to a friend who got lymes disease. Made him puke for days.

I was recently prescribed 10 days of amoxicillin that caused high anxiety for me. It culminated in a real bad anxiety attack. Luckily I was at home or I would have been tazed for sure. Threw that shit in the trash and the anxiety is definitely a lot lower.

The crap the doctors get away with is unreal! Go in to be cured of an ailment, come out with something that causes WAY worse!

Any one use a tanning bed on abx? Just wondered how much you have to cut back on tanninng if on antibiotics because i heard it makes you easier to burn?
