Anxiety meds make getting ripped up much harder!!

I just realized this after I quit xanax and it makes total sense. Any central nervous system suppressants slightly lower body temp and make it harder to burn fat.

I never realized this and when I finally quit I started getting ripped up more without even trying. My body stays warmer and I actually dropped about 8 lbs the first week I was coming off.

For anyone that is using anxiety meds that suppress nervous system, once u quit them it'll be easier to stay lean. Just some words from experience here

Weight gain from benzos is typically because the user is exerting themself less, just as result of the drugs side effects. Not really so much from the body temp.

Oh ok, I was not aware of this issue. I know I feel hotter since quitting, like in burning up from the temp rebound or something. Thanx

What you might actually be experiencing is withdrawal symptoms if you've been taking them for a prolonged amount of time. "Prolonged amount of time" could be as little as a few weeks.

I'm not aware of any kind of rebound but that might be possible, that's a little bit out of my wheelhouse. The withdrawal symptoms are similar to what you're describing though.

Oh for sure man, the withdrawal is terrible!! It's been about 4 years of use.

This was just something I read that said that because body temp is slightly lower while using benzos that the rebound can make you feel irregularly hot feeling. I know one thing, I didn't really change anything in my diet and lost a pretty quick 8 lbs.

I ditched a lot of the caffeine too and I actually lost the taste for a lot of things. I started drinking these drinks made by Whitehouse grocery, called "vital". They are in the vinegar section of the grocery store. They have apple cider vinegar in them, turmeric, and cinnamon. I figured I'd replace a bad habit with a good one so I do this mid afternoon now rather than caffeine and anxiety meds

i lost a good amount of weight going through benzo withdrawals from all the vomiting and not being able to put anything in my mouth except maybe some pineapple juice

i could eat insane amounts on benzos

I never had a problem with Xanax use or disuse luckily but I totally understand the calories burnt thing. Taking as Low as 1 milligram in the evening helped me chill out so much I would just watch 4 hours of Netflix. After 4 years on I'm sure you going to see a huge body transformation, that's awesome!

Be careful coming off benzos as it puts you at a high risk for seizures. If I remember correctly it's like 7-10 days or so after last use. I learned that shit the hard way. Finally started to feel OK after little over a week and BAM had a seizure that about killed me. I'm not saying to take them again just use caution when coming off.

Thanks man, it's been roughly 2 weeks now. I'm still feeling flu like sometimes and hot, but I think it's past that at thos point. Each day gets a little better , I don't go back to them. Never

8-10 Xanax from Canada so who knows, those bars were 3 and 4mg.. and lots of halcion

lol, the internet pressies. Yeah I have a lot of experience with those. Never got addicted to them taking them everday but I had some bad times none the less. Wake up with a black eye, drugs and money gone, girlfriend is pissed.

I thought alprazolam for panic disorders or anxiety is supposed to be limited in duration? The concern being dependency or withdrawal. There are "safer" long-term approaches to managing panic disorder or anxiety disorders, maybe even better pharmaceutical options as well (depending on if depression causes panic or anxiety issues or is related to it).

There is a member of this forum who I believe said has been using them regularly or daily since 2000. I'd exhaust every other option under the sun 100x over before going a similar route.

I've since began using ashwaganda at 1,000mg a day and about to get lions mane. They're a natural stress relief and I was told about them from a guy who was addicted to Ativan

You should try being on a beta blocker if you want to see a med that will retard fat loss and even make you fatter. Even the newest versions are tough to deal with. I've helped a lot of older guys trying to drop bf while on beta blockers and it takes some real effort at times to make progress.

Thanks for that tip, I'm gonna try those. I'm trying to get off kratom and am trying gaba, 5htp, anything to make the depression of getting off easier.

I’ve taken .5-1mg a day for the past 4-5 years. Some days I go without. I never have an urge to take more than 1mg at once...99% of the time I’ll take .5mg and I’m good. I’ll stay on this until they get pot laws right where I stay...
