I recently got prescribed Humulin R for my type 2 diabetes which regardless of how much clean eating I do I cannot bring down my sugar levels. Currently I am pinning 20iu morning , 15iu noon and 10iu evening everyday and my fasting blood sugar is 95-98 ng/dL with Metformin 500mg morning and before sleep.
Are there any disadvantages of using Lantus over Humulin R? Or just I switch to rapid acting insulin? I am thinking about just using 45 units in the morning before fasted cardio. I consume very little fat around 45-55 grams per day.
I would prefer to use whichever helps in getting better fat loss and longevity.
