I'll be 33 on May 7th. I've been on HRT for 6 months, the last 3 I believe with SWALE. My first guy didn't seem to know much, had me on some drugs I didn't need (thyroid and clomid) and was VERY hard to get in touch with (took several weeks to hear from him).
SWALE has been great. Responsive, a true expert and a real professional. We started on Androgel (which I was on from my first doc). Long story short, we switched to TEST Cyp b/c I didn't want to have to pay big bucks for the Androgel and then try to get my insurance to reinburse me. Although it is a big blue-cross/blue-shield insurance company, I've had a lot of problems with them paying my medical bills. My wife had several procedures which required me to get a lawyer and sue b/c doctors and hospitals were suing me. So I didn't want to bother with that. I wanted to pay for my meds with cash and use the cheapest method possible. Hence the test cyp route.
Started with 100mg and I felt OK for about 2-3 days after the injection. Inj day was Thursdays and by Sunday all I wanted to do was sit around the house. I had no energy. Monday is a brutal work day or me and by Monday night I was completely exhausted and stayed that way until Thursday afternoon. After bloodwork, SWALE upped me to 140mg. Each week, I would feel ok an extra day. The first week I felt ok through the weekend, by the 2nd or third week, my killer work Monday didn't kill me. And by last week, I felt pretty good for a full week. I'm due for bloodwork now which I'll probably have drawn either Monday or Tuesday - depending on which day I workout on - I'll take the other day off and do the bloodwork. Hopefully my TEST level (and all the other levels of everything else) will be perfect and I can start HcG which supposedly will make me feel even better. Besides, it's been about 6 months since my balls have produced ANY test (my total time on TRT) so my nuts are literally now the size of raisins. literally they are half to 1/3 of the size they used to be.
As for side effects, the only thing I've experienced is teenage-like acne on the face. It was out of control for a bit but I've now gotten into the regular habit of once or twice daily clearisel (?spelling) applications and it is currently at bay. The only other side effect is my wife says my face is a bit puffy. This is the time of year where I "cut up" and eat perfectly and lose body fat so I know my face should probably be a little thinner this time of year. I'm currently down to 8.8% bodyfat from 12.9% in only 7 weeks. And according to the data, I lost almost 9 pounds of fat and yet lost only 7.5 pounds of bodyweight. WHich means I GAINED muscle while losing fat. Usually I lose 50% more bodyweight than fat weight when I diet and do a lot of cardio. It's wonderful not to shrink so much when I diet!
As far as positive results, I look better, feel better with more energy, MUCH more motivation to do work such as lawn or house work, etc...
I've regained most of the strength I've lost over the past 3 or 4 years and in some cases I've sets records over my peak strength level (around 26 or 26 yrs old).
I have less muscle and joint pains. Considerably less. And things are seeming to heal faster. In the past few yrs, I had a few muscle injuries from sports (flag football and softball leagues) that never seemed to heal. One of them was an inner thigh muscle on my right leg. I could even trot without feeling it and I couldn't run without a good warmup and a lot of stretching. I had gotten the injury in July 2003 during a rough game of pool basketball. I felt a tear when my foot slipped on the bottom. I had my 11 yr old son around my neck and two other teenagers trying to pull me down.
Funny thing, I had this injury for 18 months yet someone asked me about it last night. It was the first time I realized...IT WAS GONE. Thinking back, softball started two weeks ago and I didn't feel it once then either. Somewhere in the last few months, this never-healing muscle tear/pull finally healed!
Overall, I'm thrilled with my TRT program under SWALE and I'm looking forward to continued improvement.
