I finished doing the 5x5 a few weeks ago and recently have been doing a every other day split, consisting of upper{ mainly chest/back} and lower{ quads/hams/calves}. Do you think this is a good split for muscle? I like the convenience and days off. Whaddya' think?

Griz,
For instance, i a lower body day consisting of Squats x5 sets, SLDLx4, Extx4, and a couple sets of calves.
Next day off.

Then upper body: Benchx5, inclinex3,militaryx4. Pull-ups{wide}x4, one arm rowsx3, Deadliftx4 sets

How does that look?

I would do the leg ext.imediately after squating and only maybe two sets.I would also ditch flat bench and do declines,I personally feel these much better in my chest. No fancy reasons on the leg ext., I just like to do it that way when I do'em which isnt very often.

I run this split from time to time. Works great. Sometimes I'll run this split for several weeks followed by a 3 day split on a 3 on 1 off for a few weeks followed by a four day split spread over 4-5 days a week. I increase volume as I split the routine more.
