Anyone ever had a quad tear?

Last set of leg presses, came down and felt my right quad tear, no mistaking it was a tearing sensation. Went to the restroom to check it, no blood pooling or bruising but it hurts and I’m limping on it. Don’t think it’s MRI worthy yet and not a full thickness tear, but tomm morning will tell. Anyone ever had a partial quad tear? How long you avoid training quads and what was the healing time?

Still get it checked out however even if you suspect only a partial tear.

Go get it looked at. There is zero upside to waiting. This one asshole ordered trout back in 83. We don't sell no goddamn trout.

Dude you need to get an MRI, if you felt the zipper sensation that it is a tear, if you wait on a tear it will retract and not be fixable. When you call the doctor say you need a stats MRI for a tear or else they will take there time, you can be in surgery in 3 days if needed…

I tore my pec..

I did not know you can tear quads on leg press…

You could not tell a partial to a full just from feeling alone.

What part of the set was the tear i dont get how that can be? And how heavy did you go, meaning, what set and rep was it?

Sorry for all posts, but you would want to do PT…it took jan 3 to now for me to get a good size back from a pec tear…

i know people that didnt realize they tore a muscle at PT, and they waited thinking it wasnt as bad, but it was… blood pooling doesnt mean anything

Good news, at this point I’m thinking a strain and not a tear. It never bruised up and my mobility is getting better by the day. I even did some light leg presses and extensions to get blood to the area and it’s much better than before, but the day it happened I swore I tore that thing!! Going to take it slow, won’t do any kind of real weight for at least a month

Get an MRI anyway to confirm it's just a severe strain and no full-blown tear. I've strained my right RC 2 years ago but thought it was a tear because I felt a pop when benching so got an MRI and it was just a severe strain and a little more it would have torn. It was finally pain free over 3 months ago.

Thanks man, and yes my fear of course is when it goes to any significant amount of weight continuing along a tear path.

Yeah if you try to push more for that extra rep it might have let go completely so you got lucky.
