So I read about this old school HIT routine called 6 ways to 60. At first glance it looked boring as hell, but after giving it a shot I fucking love it!! I feel powerful as hell on this program and strength is going up faster than hell. You take 8 separate exercises that cover the entire body in an A workout, then another 8 in a B workout. You train your entire body in 2 workouts per week. You use machines because the rep cadence is easier on a machine than a free weight movement. Basically you do 6 reps per set in week 1, taking 10 seconds per rep for 6 reps total, 5 sec positive and 5 sec negative. Week 2 you take 12 sec per rep and do 5 reps total, week 3 you take 15 seconds per rep and do 4 reps/set, week 4 is 20 sec per rep for 3 reps/set, week 5 is 30 sec per rep for 2 reps, and finally in week 6 you take 60 sec per rep for 1 rep. The workout only takes about 20-25 minutes or so, so I have been hitting abs and a lot of high intensity cardio on days I do not weight train. The routine doesn't look like much but I'm telling you, the pump is insane and I look blown the fuck up when I'm done. It's more of a cadence type workout than anything, but it's something different that I've never done. I feel like it's giving my body a break but at the same time I'm destroying weights. The rep speed is slower and I do not warm up, the warm up is in the first few reps of the set. It's one work set per bodypart and 8 different exercises. It's so quick and simple you wouldn't think it would work, but I'm looking swole as fuck from it. I just thought I'd share, I've never heard of it before until recently

Interesting... But only 2 training days per week? After trying it yourself, do you think that much recovery is necessary after such short, infrequent sessions?

Anyway, it does sound painful!! Have to figure out a way to throw in a little of this stuff somehow..

I need the gym for my mental sanity, therefore on off days I still do some cardio and ab work, sauna, stretch etc etc. As soon as guys can free their minds to lose the obsessive compulsiveness of having to weight train several times per week they'd be amazed at the strength gains they start getting. I have found my engine has stepped up to a V-12 while doing this routine, it's a level of power and strength I don't feel in other traditional routines.
