I think this is all in how you look at it. Thick holds a good point in saying that she could come to him for advice in things that are hards to talk to parents about. I remember when i was 16 i would always go to my older sisters friends to talk about shit i really didnt want to talk to my sister about and they could help me out and tell me the right things and what to do. I guess just know when to draw the line, you sound like you already do.

LMAO ... Well i'm kind of bumbed after Cyniq's reponse. I was thinking about it last night and i've desided to stop talking to her over the internet and text. We have actually stoped text a few days ago but now i just stoped my IM from coming up when i sign on so now i won't see when she comes on and she won't see me. I will be seeing her next weekend... Cyniq you really had me thinking ... i'm really not a bad guy. I've known these girls 4 8 yrs and they love me. I am their favorate cousin. They like to see me more then my wife and when they come running to me sitting on my lap not once would i ever think anything sexual about it. I'm a little buzzed right now so i cant write that good but your reply realy got to me last night.... Nothing would ever happen between us but friendly conversation. She said we should get together and bond whatever that means. All i can say is that i know what you mean about leading her on so i am backing off. i won't see her or talk to her until the party on the 15th
 
Another thing... i also text message my wifes other cousin who is 14 and i drive her to school almost every day ... i knew her father would take advantage of it ... she likes hard core bands so i took her to a concert about a year ago ...linking park ....it was cool so now her and 2 of her friends want to go to warped tour so now i'm going to take them. one of the girls parents want to meet me because they want to know their daughter will be safe :-) i'm a nice guy so i don't think i will have a problem there. ... What i am trying to say is that i am not attracted to this girl so much that i always flirt with her. I am a very good cousin and these girls love me since i've known them. ... Allthough i think she is amazing and i would love to be 16 yrs younger , i know what is right and what is wrong. ... sometimes it just feels so damn good to be wrong :D
 
by the way,my son is so damn cute... He has blond hair and blue eyes He is going to have to fight off the women when he gets older ;-) ... i have to post a pic ... let me just figure it out 1st
 
The way you're talking about your relationship with these girls NOW. Doesn't seem so inappropriate to me. I know that your initial comments were intended to get a rise out of knuckleheads like me, so I hope I didn't overreact. I just wanted to make it clear that there is a lot of potential for fault to be found in that kind of relationship. And all the fault will be found with you. Look at Michael Jackson. What if he is just a great guy who loves children and wants to try to improve the lives of young boys by letting them play at his amazing ranch. What if it's all innocent. And he really is being taken advantage of? Would you believe that?

I'm not comparing you to MJ necessarily, but you get the point.

It's great that you take these girls to concerts. As long as it's so that they have adult supervision without feeling like they are being supervised. It's true that you have the opportunity to do alot of good in your position. Don't touch boys til you're 30 and that sort of thing. I think your safety net is communication with your wife and the girls parents. You might mention to your wife that you think that sometimes the girls flirt with you (as long as she's not the type to go ballistic). That way if any questions are raised. You covered yourself by being honest about it.

It's a fucked up world we live in. One where we naturally assume the worst of everyone, rather than the best...
 
yeah i know exactly what your saying and yes i guess the 1st post was to get a rise :) my wife actually told me yesterday that it's clear the 14yr old one has a crush on me and i said o really. i guess i really don't notice those things much because i look at the whole situtaion differently. my wife told me not to lead her on and i thought she had been reading your posts on the board :-) I asked her if she really thought her cousin thinks she would ever be my girlfriend and she said no it's not that,it's just that she may think something might happen between us. I never honestly thought anything would happen between me and the 16yr old but i see where things can get ugly,so i've stopped the text messages. The messages were basically only a few days because i don't have an FM radio in my van and i am getting tired of listening to radio disney. i was bored. my wife was mad at me yesterday for drinking friday so i had to take the day off from the board and take her and my son to the park for a nice family day. it was cool
 
That's good stuff. Gotta make that family time. I try to be a better father to my son than my dad was to me.

There is another issue you have to watch!!!! There are some young girls that will fall in love with you and after you explain that you are not interested that they can cause you trouble. You ever watch the movie crush or something it is called. Your intentions might be good maybe the other person's intentions aren't and some girls will get pissed off.

Read about a story about a young guy that was 18 years old and seeing a 15 yr old girl. The 15 yr old girl's friend wanted to sleep with the 18 yr. He wouldn't and the 15yr old girl told the police that he had sex with her even though he did not.

What I am saying I would not put myself in a situation that could possibly appear a different scenerio. It is sad but people lie. You have to protect yourself.

She wouldn't do that. Yeah anyone can say that but if you knew this girl you'd know she would never do anything like that. i know what you mean though
