are egg white a "complete protein" ?

i heard you have to add at least half a yoke to lets say 5 egg whites in order for it to be a complete protein? how about eating with oatmeal,does the oatmeal or grain bread make the white a complete protein?

You'll be alright mate, just eat the egg whites if you can. I add yolks because I can't just eat whites; makes me sick after a while. To be honest, I usually only eat whole eggs, never just the whites. It's a matter of taste for me.

Taser, not sure what you mean as a complete protein? There are numerous types of protein that contain very different amino make ups and processed in very different ways. As far as eating the yolks, just as a rule of thumb, unless it is contest prep diet, I use 4 whites to 1 yolk. But I also will drink egg whites strait out of the carton every once in a while also!
 
No bro you will be fine. Egg whites are a great source of protein that obviously you WIll utilize. A good complete protein source would be a mixture of say rice and beans. You will do just great by eating the egg whites, rices, beans, meats, fish, shakes, ect.

thanks guys. one quick note about drinking raw eggs(as i used to). your body will not utilize all the protein as it will with cooked. also,raw eggs deplete your body of biotin,which can cause hair loss(fact). conversly,cooking eggs too much can alter the quality of the protein but definitely drinking raw eggs is not the way to go. ever wonder why your stomache gets so full off gas after drinking eggs raw.

It will not use it all cooked either in fact it will utilize more raw than cooked. Cuz cooking destroys a lot of the protein aminos. the reason you get gas is because lack of certain stomach enzymes. Just like eating asparagus and funny smelling urine / lack of enzymes.

If Im not mistaken there are some supplements that you can take to help with breaking down the proteins and such, easier. Or am I incorrect? Or ofcoarse Beano ect.

Your stomach should not be full of gas after eating eggs raw, unless your digestive tract is unhealthy.

Eating raw eggs will not deplete your stores of biotin. The binding of avidin to biotin occurs pre-absorption in the digestive tract, and thus it is not true to say that avidin (or raw egg whites) "leech" biotin from the body. It will, however, prevent biotin from being absorbed by the body while the avidin is still present in the digestive tract.

Raw egg yolks contain around 25mcg biotin, but around 5.7g would be required to bind all the avidin from the whites of a large egg. Avidin is only present in the egg white, not the yolk. Therefore, it is never advised to drink only raw egg white without the yolk. The best way to consume a "raw" egg is thus to consume the yolks raw, and heat the egg whites to 100 degrees Centigrade. This will destroy the avidin (but also some of the nutiritional qualities of the egg.)

If you do eat raw eggs, eat them only every other day, and supplement with a bioavailable source of biotin.
