I know some of the advertisers have banners for pharmacies on their site. So, I assume that is what you are referring to. That's an important distinction for me but may be immaterial to you.

I'm not going to advertise anything that has a point of sale on the domain. If sources advertise on information-only sites or even create their own, those sites are free to advertise on meso but NOT any ecommerce sites. This doesn't mean I would be against advertising any pharmaceutical lab website - it just means that I won't advertise a pharm company that sells products directly from their website.

I am grateful to the companies that do support MESO.

The problem is, once we/MESO start banning, where does it stop? That is the problem on other boards, and the result is that mods, with a precedence of banning whomever they want, end up banning discussions that interfere w/ their bottom line. So mods end up getting kickbacks and banning anything and everything that interferes w/ their gravy trains.

It's not just that. There are many good guys who are mods. But when someone becomes a mod, they feel it's necessary to do something simply because of the title. With the best of intentions, they feel they must start deleting and banning. In my experience, they're usually to quick to do both.

On MESO, we rarely ban or delete anything other than the bots that spam "uggs" and "colon cleanses". I prefer to use the term "forum leaders" rather than mods. I think it better reflects the position. I'd rather they lead discussion rather than be preoccupied with tedious task of evaluating the ban-worthiness of posters.

Forbb currently pays to advertise their website. But yes, WP paid to advertise their website over 4 years ago. I've never received anything from AP other than email replies. Does forbb = WP = MJ? I don't know. But I wouldn't question that assumption.

Historically, yes. Every advertiser has been fully disclosed. (For obvious reasons, they're ADVERTISING with banner ads.) This isn't new. You've been around forever, you've seen who has advertised in the past.

As far as advertising is concerned, MESO follows an advertiser-based revenue model. I encourage everyone to follow the money because this, at the very least, leads to the appearance of bias and represents a potential conflict of interest. This is not inevitable. But it creates a higher standard for the publishers who follow such a model.

I think my record of editorial independence is clear as exhibited by my posts, my actions and my protection of individual member's free speech even when it is unpopular with advertisers.

Feel free to condemn me for my desire for "popularity" (which I assume is not for personal popularity but popularity of the website), increased membership and increased funding. I have big goals for MESO-Rx that involve a strong commitment towards changing the public perception of AAS, promoting steroid education, promoting steroid harm reduction and advocating steroid law reform. These goals demand all of the aforementioned prerequisites. I don't apologize for this. And I hope to nurture a community that feels strongly about the importance of those goals. As far as I'm concerned, they are one and the same. And I hope to have community support on these.

I don't approve or disapprove of sources as a manner of principle. So, I'm not going to rubber stamp a consensus view on any company.

What I will do is facilitate examination of the specific behaviors by which various entities conduct business. Based on the information presented, I will allow members to make their judgments about whether to do business with the company.

What about WP in particular? My take: There have been many fair criticisms but sometimes they've been demonized. Their internet marketing is annoying and spammy. They've made various demonstrably false claims. They've implied their shop is FDA-approved and all their products are US-FDA approved. I don't think any FDA approves internet pharmacies and the US-FDA doesn't approve pharmaceuticals imported from overseas (even if made by Organon, Schering, etc). Customer service does not appear to be an issue based on observation that complaints are rarely by customers but usually by non-customers warning about marketing methods and claims. Their prices are very high but price is relative to the consumer. I don't think WP is the owner of AP. Therefore, I consider my opinion of AP a separate issue.

As you can see, I don't necessarily agree with the consensus and my opinion is more nuanced but still critical. Due to ill will generated by WP marketing, I think some people will assume the worst on little evidence and others may go farther and do whatever they can to deter newbies from buying anything from WP. I don't do this. I present my opinion based on what can be reasonably substantiated.

When a business represents their products as something more than what they really are and in doing so tricks the end user into paying excessive fees for their products, do you consider that to be a scam?

On one hand you're acknowledging WP is lying to the community and you're hosting a frank discussion about them. On the other hand you are intentionally exposing your userbase to them and driving traffic to them.

I do not intentionally send traffic to WP. WP is not permitted to advertise the WP website on meso. And I have no interest in defending their marketing practices.
