Can someone weigh in on what they know about EO?

Everything that I have heard, which isn't that much, about EO is that it hasn't been extensively used in humans yet and no one really knows the long term effects of it. I know people use it in super-blends because of its ability to keep things in solution, but anyone have any research on its safety, other than the no-PIP comment?
