I have a torn rotator cuff and every time I fight I dislocated my shoulder (doesn't bother me use to it) but when I do bench press it kills I've tried to switch up grips move elbows different nothing seems to help I don't want to stop doing bench press but no clue what else to do maybe only go half way down it hurts when I get about 2in or lower to chest any input?

You should heal first and maybe try dumbbell press.
I had rotator cuff problems and dislocation stretches cured my symptoms. I don't know if this will work for you but it was a miracle for me.
Do you have a doctor involved?

yeah I have to have surgery but can't until I'm done with my fighting career cuz it will just happen again I do presses and other stuff and the only things that really hurt it are bench press and lat rise the stretches do help a ton and I'm in pt but something's just set it off

Mghoward posted a whole thread dedicated to fixing bad shoulders. He has fucked shoulders but has found ways to help. ANd they do help as Ive done them myself. Make sure youre not flaring your arms while pressing, thats a one way ticket to snap city.

thanks man I'll check that out

I had a similar problem and I was able to work around it. Try doing dumbell bench presses, but turn your wrists so your palms are facing each other, keep your hands nice and tight as you lower (shoulder width at most), and keep your elbows tucked at your sides. I did this even with severe pain in my rotator cuff and I was able to allow my shoulder to heal and I maintained my strength as well. Give it a try, and no less than 10 reps.

Torn posterior lab here small wanna say sup post

Flat bench is out bud. Very irritating. Find a DB grip that works. I can also do several push-up variation that work great. Tyson push-up my fave atm

In absence of labrum the rotator cuff muscle and tendon are primary stabilizers. Specifically subscapularis and teres major and minor. They will be fatigued quickly without the labrum but can still put in work. OHP and Dips are basically g2g. Your shoulder prob healthy in several positions... PM if u want my rotator cuff routine

Op between your shoulder and wrists I would stop training the way you are.when I used to fight I would have any left 2 times a week they were the three basic less bench squat and deadlift medium weight.in your other thread you said you're doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Muay Thai boxing all that run your body down.but being a fighter you are always going to be banged up.I believe you said your title fight is that the end of June I would just concentrate just on the fighting styles and just body weight exercise.

It seems to go to crap even if I do light weight high reps (135lbs @ 15 reps or 115lbs @ 20) so I took the press and pull ups out for now hitting more cardio calisthenics and technique like you said until my fight but after the fight when I start lifting again it would be nice to use some of the stuff you guys are telling me since pt doesn't help to much and they said they won't do surgery till my fighting career is done
