This is typical, it's generation after generation that keeps on adopting the same habits. And nobody is self-reflecting to exclaim "What is going on here?! This needs to STOP."
I have had this conversation with my family members, trust me, it isn't a fun conversation to have. You basically undermine their whole life and telling them they are a piece of sh!t. And it hurts because it is true.
I would think school is a strong mental block for you. It makes you uncomfortable to the core. It is extremely strong of you to be able to get a 3.8.
I am the same about pulling hair. My mom used to yank the sh!t out of it and then we would stand by the toilet getting rid of the excess.
So true! Same here man. I don't like looking at childhood photos for that reason, I just see myself as a lonely kid that could have used some support. My mom was solo and abused, she tried. Women and men all need help, it takes more than two people to raise a kid.
I agree, I think it is all about how you shape your children. The child will do whatever is being reflected from the parent. As a parent it is hard to accept that you are doing something wrong.
