Bench and Dead Lift same day?

If you compete in a Power lifting comp and do push/pull you will have to perform both on the same day. Do you then do both movements during your workouts on the same day in preparation? Just wondering

Its pretty common. I bench three times a week so I bench after squatting or deadifting every week. It might be something you have to adapt to but it shouldn't take long.

That's because you are a Power Lifting maniac. Do normal people do that?
I don't think anyone that knows me irl considers me normal, but I squat, press, power clean, bench, and deadlift in the same workout all the time, so I'm sure you'll be fine doing just those 2.

I bench and squat three times a week and deadlift twice so id say its normal as long as your programing allows you to do it with out overreaching to fast

People following higher frequency programming like Mike T's RTS programming will often do this. I have one day a week where I'll do all 3. To your question, I don't think you need to alter your programming to do both in the same session. It would probably be a good idea some time during peaking to have a scaled back mock meet and/or work up to your openers in order to go through your warmups as efficiently as possible. Things aren't perfect in the warmup area with lots of people sharing a few benches and bars.

My Wednesday's are heavy deadlift then bench press 4x3 and then 3x3 bench with the slingshot for some tricep over load training.

Then you surely aren't normal, but a freak brother

I squat, deadlift, bench press, clean, do lounges, dead lift again, shoulder press, do dips, do abs, 4 miniute plank, squat again, 1 hr of cardio, then run home. That's only my AM lift...You should see my PM session.

But all seriousness. Bench and squat should be fine. You would def use some energy for that though.

I do all of the above standing on the head licking both my elbows simultaneously....to warm up

A smart trainee has specific objectives for each session, and has to prioritize them because of mental and physical energy limits and the various factors of the conditioning effect. I'd say that most PLers I know have given up on the big 3 split, and at least bench more often than weekly. The exercise they do first is the day's primary focus, and usually the most intense. I do something for push, pull, and dunk every time I work out, but only one of them is my main goal for the day.
