Bench press grip style

I am gonna pay attention to that now that you mention it, as to where i commonly place the bar in relation to where my wrist is. Im wondering now if i just out of habit have my hands tilted slightly.

You can video yourself for easier review later.

Also, try to avoid gloves of all kinds especially with wraps. Those wraps aren't really supportive. For good support get yourself a good set of PL wrist wraps.

I also use suicide grip with wraps. It doesn't feel natural with my thumb around the bar. I am one of a few guys at my gym I see using that grip as most seem to use the thumb wrap. @Eman had a good point about still using them to stabilize. I feel like my traps and back being ready for a heavier load has more of an impact on my overall lift though. But shit, dif strikes for dif folks right? I have had a wrist injury that I believe forced my grip to forgo the wrap around thumb. Without that injury I may still be using a standard grip...

Dont you ever feel like you have the possibility to lose the bar when you are benching heavy ? I have hit 405 recently as a new PR 1 rep max and would hate to think of that shit coming out of my hands and landing on the chest. How are you keeping it securely in your hand? Or am i being a worry warden?

This amped me up to go for a PR on bench tomorrow. It won't be 405 haha but maybe 360.

I'm going for a new PR in 2 weeks. I'll have the better half get proof :)

Dude, can't tell you how happy I was to get that a few months after my cycle. Shieko is the shit.

I rotate my palms outward slightly so the bar sits in my whole hand. Does that make sense?
It's really comfortable. This happens to engage the pecks more to.

I use suicide grip on all barbell presses. Never had a problem.

I've been lifting for over a decade and never had my wrist give out but once, happened last week. Only takes one time to get fucked up. I wrap thumbs though and some how I didn't eat the bar

I've been lifting forever too. I'm not saying suicide grip is for everyone. I've seen people collapse with high weight on the bar and not lose their grip but drop it on their chest nonetheless.
