Best book on EVERYTHING for beginners

I was wondering if there is a recommended book for beginners on training, nutrition, supplements - everything needed for beginners to understand achieving optimal fitness levels.

I've been reading as much as can via the Internet, on here and a few other places, and this is the first fitness board I've joined. Granted I've been browsing and reading as many threads as I can on here, but I do come upon terms, phrases and topics I want to know more deeply about. For instance, what lab tests should I ask for and what so they mean? I'm making an appointment for a complete physical (which I probably won't get for another few weeks) so I'd like to make use of that time to gain as much info to discuss with my doctor.

While everyone seems so well-versed in body hormones, chemicals and composition, I still find it all quite overwhelming. So if anyone could suggest a book for beginners to understand the entire make-up of complete body sculpturing, nutrition, supplements, etc. it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance!

No, im not joking. Its not going to tell you what you want to know, but it will give you the background info so that when you do read about what you really are interested in, it will make sense to you and you will not be overwhelmed. Good good text that should be in every lifters library. The provided link is a new hardcover edition, you can find the text much cheaper in used form. much, much cheaper, just look around a little.
