best home abs workout?

Any recommendations for the best / most effective abs workout? Any videos? Something like 5-10 minutes that can be done every day at home.

I've mostly only done leg raises and crunches so far, but i want to get more serious about it.

Best:

Cardio

... with 100 hanging leg raises daily; 50 lifting legs horizontal and 50 bringing knees to your chest. Once you can blow past that you can start adding all sorts of targeted geometric twisting bullshit.

Worst:
anything involving added weight

Sounds nice and simple. Will try this later.

Do you already have abs and want to make them more defined ?

Or are you looking to get abs?

If you’re looking to get abs then the best /most effect workout will be the kitchen…That’s where you get them from… 90% of getting abs is from what you eat and how lean you are.

That’s why some drug addicts have 8 packs… cause they have no body fat….not cause they workout….doing a 5-10 minute workout everyday for abs is completely pointless if your diet is not in check.

If you already have abs and want to make them more defined.

hanging or laying leg lifts, planks, Russian twists… exercises like those …etc … will tighten them up more…

Edit:db front squats are also great for abs

I find doing hanging raises at home to be challenging although i have done them in the gym. Training the abs themselves is straight forward about trying to get the rib cage closer to the pelvis and exhaling while doing them. Many expend their abs out when crunching which just trains them to protrude more even when lean. I find controlled twisting with crunches as well as leg raises help to actually pull the core tighter to have a smaller waist.

I would get a basic decline sit-up bench (even a flimsy one would work) and do weighted sit-ups in the 8-10 rep range. Make sure you fully straighten your back at the end of the descent. One thing that is especially nice about this exercise is that at the end you can always just throw the weight plate aside and immediately do a drop set with your BW.
If you do hanging leg raises, set a plyo box behind your initial starting position so that when you descend down swinging becomes impossible since you will come to somewhat of a dead-stop. Otherwise, swinging adds a lot of momentum and just makes the exercise less effective IMO.

If you have a standard weight bench, look up modified candlesticks. The movement was awkward for me at first but once you get a feel for it will work the shit out of your abs.

On the principle that abbs like every other muscle develop and grow from low volume but high overload :( and you wanted a 5-10 min workout)

On the minute, every minute for 10
1 x Dragon Flag (15,5,15,5 tempo)

Reduce repetitions to fit time available
