Been searching around the farm and finding bits and pieces in reference to dealing with inflammation I guess we're all dealing with it a little bit differently. I have some aches and pains in the shoulder left shelter hurts a little bit more than it should and the knees and hamstrings after leg day my legs are cooked for a few days. Just like to know what you guys are doing ?

I like prednisolone when I’m not on something driving my cortisol up already

Thank you, a meeting with my doctor on the 30th as I stayed in another thread to request prednisone. Some of the members here said it's will make me feel great in the short run but not so much in the long run?

There's a bunch of curcumin extracts that actually work really really well. Like as good as pharma. The natty food shops the smelly hippies shop in have them. Just find one with the most varieties.

Have a day or two fast, 48 hour fasts always clear me up as it makes autophogy happen.

Citrulline malate for circulation

I get my curcumin at Costco. They usually have good quality with their own brand so I hope it's decent. But honestly couldn't tell you since I don't feel anything when I take it. It's supposed to be like natural ibuprofen right? But I can feel ibuprofen when it kicks in. I get relaxed with a hint of euphoria even. With curcumin it just feels like one of those things I'm taking bc other people are and the research I've seen makes it sound like it's worth it

are you sure its something you need to treat with drugs and not something that can be solved by programming your training better or altering your technique/form? Why is the inflammation there in the first place and how bad is it?

you want some inflammatory response as its a natural response to trauma/stress, like training, that helps us adapt. But too much becomes an issue.

Theres things like omega3s, curcumin, CBD which first comes to mind. Things like cold water immersion is supposedly helpful against inflammation too. Enough sleep, nutrition and a health diet with all the micronutrients, the basics.

Great thoughts and that's exactly what I build my foundation on I should have explained to myself a little bit better. At 63 9 out of 10 people's knees are going to be sore that's because I've always been a fitness person and I I think I wore them out? But after a good strong leg day and my hamstrings are just sore after a strong back day my shoulders get sore after a workout chest Etc. I deal with ibuprofen and it does pretty good I'm just exploring other options maybe you guys are doing something that I'm unaware of maybe there's something new out there that is new to me but something many of our members use. I've learned so many exciting new things on this forum from some of the veterans, I'm so impressed that I willing people are to help other people.

This is something I would recommend talking to your physician about, if you haven't already. You need to find someone that knows your situation and the root cause of your pain. If, for example, your pain is from nerve impingement, or a herniated disc, anti-inflammatorys won't do anything.

In my opinion, anti-inflammatorys should be used only acutely.

Anti inflammatory medications will still reduce pain from a nerve impingement or herniated disc. They work through several different pathways one of which is reducing the production of prostaglandins which are basically chemical messengers that cause pain.
