Best place for l carntine

My understanding based on research I have done is that bioavailability of oral l-carnitine is low and ranges between 5-18%, because of this the recommended dose is 1-6 grams

Dietary l-carnitine is much higher but still varies widely between individuals based on many factors including previous diet

Obviously injectable l-carnitine is closer to 100% bioavailability and the recommended dose is 500 mg- 1 gram.

The oral bioavailability could vary so greatly that one cant put a number on it. Previous red meat consumption vs vegan diet, how l-carnitine is synthesized in the liver and many other factors that are unique to the individual will determine bioavailability. Because of this you can’t put a hard and fast number on oral vs injectable bioavailability. One person may need 1 gram oral and the next person may need 6 grams oral for an equivalent of the injectable form.
Here’s a quote about the elimination and reabsorption of oral supplementation -
Renal reabsorption of free L-carnitine is normally very efficient; in fact, an estimated 95% is thought to be reabsorbed by the kidneys (1). Therefore, carnitine excretion by the kidney is usually very low. However, several conditions can decrease the efficiency of carnitine reabsorption and, correspondingly, increase carnitine excretion. Such conditions include high-fat, low-carbohydrate diets; high-protein diets; pregnancy; and certain disease states (see Primary systemic carnitine deficiency) (12). In addition, when circulating L-carnitine concentration increases, as in the case of oral supplementation, renal reabsorption of L-carnitine may become saturated, resulting in increased urinary excretion of L-carnitine“

Thanks for this.

The study on androgens with L-carnitine-L-tartrate 1000 mg/d PO was horrible quality, but seems low risk:benefit ratio (I don't fear TMAO) and there have been other more positive studies.

Imma give this a try.

Thanks for the piece of mind bro. Willdo. I for one will eat it as a loss before i attempt to pick it up. Plus it was addressed to some weird name i never seen before so pick ups not a option lmao
This is why sources tell you to use your real name because if your postman knows you he may not deliver it if it’s some persons name he’s never seen before and doesn’t match your family name. Also no source will ever reimburse if you gave false delivery info and it didn’t get delivered because of that reason.

With dosing at 1 gram per day:
500 mg/mL water based is uncomfortable and/or inconvenient.

Not trying to inject 1 mL twice a day or 2 mL once a day (of water based).

Would much rather 1 mL once a day or 0.5 mL twice a day.

If anyone can figure out how to make 1000 mg/mL, that would be awesome.

I used to make supersaturated solutions in the lab, but that's a pain in the ass and seems like overkill here.

Pinned Aminos used to have it at 900mg/ml. I never used that but feedback said it was a little pippy. It sucks they got shutdown. I used them for a couple years for several things and they were great.

Been doing 1g+ on most days for close to a year. I don't think it does much except make you feel warm. Not worth the extra injections and pip. Mine is 800mg / ml but I add more water to dilute it down. Don't expect much from it. Only people hyping it up are the ones who sell it.

This is 100% my conclusion after running similar amounts for similar time frame. Too many injections too little return. As kurt haven recently discussed in a podcast, it is not the rate limiting step in the kreb's cycle, so in theory it really shouldn't increase the rate of fat burning.

That being said, I do get a mental clarity and uplifted feeling if I pin after a few days break. After a few days of consecutive pinning this feeling is less pronounced.

It also satisfies the urge to 'i really wanna pin something pre-workout' placebo effect.

So even though I don't think it's a game changer, and I'm no longer hyper focused on making sure I do my carnitine at the right time every day, I'll still keep it in a few days of week because why not.
