hi guys i need to lose some serious weight what is the best protein powder to use with more or less 0 carbs. im weight training and cycling. please reccommend thanks.

beverly nutrition products are very good. high protein low carbs, also sci-fit econo whey protein.cookies and creme taste pretty good. just my 2 cents worth

Hey Andy...there are all types of protein on the market today....Depending on your budget here are a few.

Whey Protein Powders
Egg White Powders
Liquid Egg Whites
Liqiud Amino Acids

I suggest you go to google and do a search on each of these for more info. Personally due to the high volume of protein I consume daily I prefer Whey Protein powders. The cost for 5lbs approx 77 servings at 20 grams per runs from $17.95 to $60.00 with the average around $27.00. Whey powder comes in many flavors and is easily mixed with water or other liquids. Hope this gets you pointed in the right direction.......Vegas

You definitely need to try the Syntrax Nectar proteins. The fuzzy navel flavor tastes like orange juice. Oh, and it's a whey isolate w/zero carbs.

why isolate is the best protein hands down. the GNC stuff is pretty good i find.

Oh bullshit.
The best protein is going to be context specific. The best protein post-workout is not the best protein pre-workout or for general use or before bedtime or what have you.

And at least one study (fat police offers) found that casein was superior to whey, which makes sense considering the Boire data on whey vs. casein and how they affected protein synth vs. breakdown.

Since the OP asked about a dieting situation, casein (or food) or maybe a casein/whey mix would be a better choice than straight whey.

Cytosport's evopro is a good micellar casein and whey isolate blend. It has added glutamine and is low in carbs. The melon and apple flavors are amazing.

Lyle, do you cover when and which kind of protien in the UD book? I like to eat solid foods but do suppliment with shakes for convenience. Are the hard copy books in stock yet? Your web site said they were out. Thanks

I just quick flipped through the book and didnt see any specific recommendations on protein. Only carbs and fats get that distinction. Check out the articles section of his site, Im pretty sure he has one of his protein rundowns there.

BTW, this diet kicks ass! There is noticable improvement all over my body, though most apparent in my upper body (lower body always responds slower for me). This is after 1 real week of dieting, 1 week of sorta dieting, and 1 week of Im not really sure what to call it. As is stated in the book and on Lyle's site, it takes at least a good 2 cycles (weeks) to be able to really dial it in. Im pretty close, but having trouble cramming that many crabs into my piehole without resorting to twizzlers, jelly bellys, and other such corn starch and fructose products. Lyle, any help in this area would be appreciated.

Yeah its finally time to get more serious about my diet. By the time summer is here I may actually have abs. This is the worst I've ever let it get. I'm just getting kinda old. Now I need to actually apply some science and thought to my eating. Looking forward to trying Lyle's program.

lol, well this guy probably knows better then me, I'm just saying what I found from my experiences.

Good point Bigkarch. The more protein you take in, the less that quality really matters. If you are only eating 50g per day, then hell yeah it matters. But if youre eating 400g/day, it really wont make any diff.

for my lunch at work i eat a couple bio-protien bars, they are only 1.29 and they have 21g. for powder i use proteincustomizer.
