i had my blood and liver profile done this week. i just got the results in the mail. evrything is within the limits except ,ABS MONO 1.0 (SHOULD BE UNDER .9), ABS GRAN 6.9 (SHOULD BE UNDER 5.8). what do these abreviations mean? my liver profile had one high reading as well. SGOT/AST 48 (SHOULD BE UNDER 42). anyone know what this means? thanks, niko

AST is almost always going to be elevated in someone who lifts heavy....it's just a general indicator of liver "damage".....CK may also be high in response to strenuous excercise.....if GGT is also high, then you may have an issue.

Abs mono (monocytes) and abs gran (granulocytes) are types of white blood cells. If you're on the tail end of an infection....cold...anything at all, monocytes and neutrophils (a subdivision of granulocytes) can be slightly elevated. if the doc didn't show concern, then I wouldn't worry at all.
