Ahh you work in Medical yes? haha.
I've looked over hundreds of thousands of charts and the above is reflected to the T. This put me in a great position to pick a doctor for myself though.
Took one or two conversations with my GP and now he will prescribe me whatever I ask for, he has no shame google searching something in front of me either. He has never pressed me about my size, but there is a clear unspoken understanding between us that he knows what I do. Always asks me if I have any bloodwork to show him since our last visit, sure enough I have my labs prepped on my phone to go over and give him peace of mind.
You really do need to try a few doctors to find the right one for yourself. If you know anyone who works in medical, even receptionists, schedulers, billers, etc ask them if they have opinions on any local doctors. Its usually the support staff or nurses that know best.
All that said, its not always their fault, the "bad ones". They are setup to fail and they have a lot of rules and regulations they have to deal with. I know of a chain of clinics that has a couple really great doctors but the chain itself is horrible, administration forces the providers to prescribe and push certain agendas.
