Blood pressure monitor recommendations?

Anyone have recommendations for a good arm BP monitor? After searching I just keep seeing these crappy Chinese brands with mixed reviews. I need one with at least a 17" cuff, preferably with some room to grow ;)

I see these ones with like 20+ inch cuffs, would that be too big and not work properly?

Was looking at the Beurer BM67, but it only has a 17.3" cuff.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a solid BP monitor? Thanks yall!

Generally, the cuffs are adjustable via velcro. The one I have goes from 8.75"-16.5". I would assume the 20" cuff is adjustable as well and would probably suit you just fine.

Yeah i just saw online if you get one that is too big/too small it could affect your reading to be higher or lower. I was a dumbass and never paid attention to blood pressure for a long time (my BP has always been on the low end, my doc says I have the BP of a middle schooler). I had a monitor that broke after 2 months, so am just trying to find one that is reliable and will work for a long time for me.

I just picked this one up in the last month. I can't comment on longevity but it seems fine so far. Good luck, buddy.

I went ahead and got one, GreaterGoods is the brand. It was only $30 off amazon and I think the cuff size will be alright. Thanks my man!

Hey thanks man! Appreciate it!

I am wary of the wrist models as I've seen studies saying they take regularly higher readings than an arm model. So our scales of normal BP levels don't line up to the wrist model readings.

There's a little reading if you are interested. It's hard to say if the wrist models are less accurate just due to how finicky they are with body positioning or if there is something inherently different about readings at the wrist (or both). For now I am trying to stick to the arm readings--or at least have both units so if I get concerned the wrist one is off I'd double check it with the arm one.

Anyway, I appreciate the recommendation! If this GreaterGoods one doesn't work out well I'll return it and get an Omron for sure.

Here in Europe the favorite brand (used by doctors, hospitals, etc) is Omron like other forum member mentioned, they are "table type". Wrist types are not recommended by medical centers, I don´t know why, but my experience with them (I had several (3) before owning the Omron) is that they get unaccurate fast (at least the ones I had) the Omron, for years has been perfect....gives the same readings I get at the hospital.

Can anyone here who uses the Omron cuff blood pressure monitor recommend the model they like? I see so many by Omron and don't know which one to choose.

Hi,

I will put you THE MODEL I HAVE which has worked perfectly since I bought it in 2015:

Omron Model: M3 (HEM-7131-E)

You might use it for starting your search and comparison with newer models, etc.

Best regards!

I use the BP machine at my local Walmart once a week. It's surprisingly accurate and I'm always at the high end of normal without resting a few minutes before the test. And I know it's accurate cause before doctor visits I check my BP on the machine and then compare it to BP reading from my doc.

I would, but there's nothing like that near me. Plus with COVID you'd be hard pressed to find me in a store nowadays anyway. I want to take BP daily, my unit should be here in the next day or two, so I'll let peeps know how it works!

Unfortunately I can't eat like a bodybuilder without hitting up walmart a few times a week, but I distance and wear a good mask. Some stores like Shoppers drug mart have closed the BP machines due to covid and I think that's just fucking stupid and dangerous! Keep us posted bro.

Actually my unit got here today! Was surprised to see it on the porch. Just used it, BP is 114/65. Currently running 500 Test/350 NPP/40 Anavar. About 4 weeks in.

I got that easy@Home digital upper arm BP monitor. Link isn't working, it is "Large Cuff Easy@Home Digital Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor (BP Monitor)" and I was able to get it with my FSA which was nice.

I was a little worried about the cuff size but it is alright. It definitely has room to play I don't think 16.5" is the max size on this thing.

I was 120/80 last time and my doctor said it was fine. I'd like mine to be more like yours though, but we all tick differently.

Well you are still solid too man. My BP has just always been like that, like you said we just tick different. My doctor always comments about it every time I see him lol

Don't you think you need a bigger cuff? Cuffs that are too small give false high readings.

Take it to your doctor and ask the nurse to check your blood pressure with one arm while you use yours with the other arm. My Omran BP562 (wrist) was right on with the nurse's reading.
