Blood Pressure

I've only been able to find one source with cilnidipine and I've gotten no response from a few days.
When PCP isn't an option for something like amlodipine, do most folks find a UGL source or is there a telemedicine option that is affordable and people use?

PCT 24 doesn't ship to Europe, unfortunately.
Do you know where I can find it with shipping to the EU at an affordable price?

However, I’m going to try lercanidipine—it seems to be somewhere between amlodipine and cilnidipine in terms of side effects.
I'll be combining it with telmisartan + HCTZ and bisoprolol, all in micro-doses

You'd be better off, and the most current clinical guidance (supported by extremely strong evidence ), by leaving Telm at 40 and adding a low dose calcium channel blocker.

From what I understand insurance bases your risk, once you have documented hypertension, on how well controlled it is, not the meds you're taking for it.

With those numbers, your doc should be perfectly willing to add 5mg Amlodipine (which most people tolerate just fine), and you can even ask for a single pill combo with both.

You want to be as close to or just below 120/70 as you can get.

If you want to self treat, you can get 5mg Amlodipine, or better imo as we've been discussing 10mg Cildipidine (equivalent to 5mg Amlodipine) from the PCT vendors here very inexpensively. Under $35 for a year's supply.

They also offer Telm/amlodipine or Telm/cildipidine single pill combos,
I want to thank you for all the information you have been providing on this very important health matter. You have gone above and beyond answering everyone’s questions. You have definitely helped me dial in my medication protocol to get my Bp in a far better range. Your a good man ghoul!

My pleasure brother. The appreciation of like minded members here is what, in part, gives me the drive to stay on top of the ever advancing science on this topic, which greatly benefits my own health as well!

Ok. Looking for a little help. I cannot get my bp down. It has been 130 over 80 for a long time. But recently I got up to 140 over 80. Sometimes worse depending on my stress and anxiety. Putting the cuff on at this point raises it 10 points I swear. Any way I am on amlodipine 5mg in the morning. Baby aspirin. I supplement true beets and magnesium glycinate also use leviathan nutrition full health line. I have telimisartan on hand but when I was taking it seemed to give me some chest pain. Diet is pretty good, 3k calories. Currently only training 3 days a week. Cardio 2x per week. I really want to get it down. I have metoprolol on hand. I would like to try and get it down with out medication first if possible. But Its becoming my primary goal at this point. Any protocol suggestions? I’m running a replacement dose of test right now. A little higher 200mg prop. Just kind of need some guidance. Maybe one goal or medication at a time. Or maybe sodium changes, idk been elevated my whole life and really want to make more of an effort. I do know stress is a huge roll. I’m stepping back from my job for a little to see if that does anything over the next few days. See if I can get a more stable reading. Lately been taking readings in the evening. Also have cialis on hand. Haven’t done blood work in a while. Going to get that taken care of in the next week or two. Idk how I feel about hurting myself with messing up my electrolytes (potassium) idk……..just send me some good info guys. I’ll be reading through as well. Thanks.

Since it's been high your entire adult life, it's more congenital (inherited) than lifestyle or even gear.

Based on the current US guidelines, which are guided by very significant data (and recently adopted by the EU) 140/80 calls for initiation of 2 class (low dose) medication and lifestyle changes.

Your goal is to get below 120/80.

If you want to try a conservative approach, you can start with 40mg Telmisartan, the minimum dose and unlikely to cause sides. Ideally though, you would combine this with a low dose CCB. Cilnipidine has been discussed here a lot lately because of its very low side effect risk and kidney health benefits. Beta blockers like metoprolol and diuretics are considered last choice because of side effects.

It's cheap. You can easily get a prescription via telehealth, or buy it from India pharma.

Intensive cardio will drop systolic 5-10 points but that's not enough.

Level of BP x Time of exposure = level of damage.

Like most of us it's gone on for a while, there are no symptoms after all so it's easy to ignore, but without a doubt getting it under control and keeping it down from here on will pay off over the long term.

Mine is the opposite.
I had low BP readings and even now that I'm on 500mg test.
I feel normal btw.
Took my BP an hour ago and I had 85/60!
Sometimes it is a bit higher, sometimes it is a bit lower.
Never seen more than 110 sys.

I am on 5-10mg tadalafil daily, but I haven't noticed any change in my BP.
If i stop it for 2-3 days my BP doesn't go up, significantly.

That's crazy, Almost hypotension. But it also means your arteries are likely completely clear.

It seems diastolic has to be over 65 to have any significant development of arteriosclerosis.

Below 90 systolic or diastolic 60 though does increase other risks so see a doc of it drops more.

So the tadalafil is 100% for boners? Don't lie.

Haha, I'm not gonna lie, I love tadalafil.

For boners, yes, and gym pumps, but again, it's not that is dropping my BP significantly to the point I have to stop it.
I just mentioned tadalafil because it is known to somewhat lower BP.

It's crazy indeed , because I feel fine as I said on these readings, and I monitor my BP quite often.
I will listen to your advice and I will check it with a doctor if these, or lower readings continue.

I think it's much better to be in your position, BP wise, than have it elevated like most of us. It generally only goes up with age.

Do you do cardio, get correct amount of steps, keep sleep apnea in check, eat correctly, limit body fat?

Haven’t really seen any mention about lifestyle factors that contribute and are controllable. Have seen very very good improvement in people just by doing these things… like going from 140 down and thinking it is generic to 110 just by changing habits and losing body fat and realizing they are just not living in a healthy way

Ok so here is some more info. It’s def genetic because when I have blasted in the past it only goes up 5 points. And even off everything it would just come back down those 5 points. Here is some more info tho. Not to be arrogant but I am in really good shape. Probably sub 14 percent and easily can dive down to sub 10 with daily cardio. My resting heart rate is 60 to 65. My diet is so so right now. So from what I’m reading if I clean everything up diet wise and hit the tread mill every morning fasted for 30 to 45 min I should get a change? If I can get back to 130 over 80 maybe then I’ll throw in the telimisartan to “take me home” I’ll get back to you guys. Tomorrow will be day one.

I move all day working. Very very active. 430 am wake up. And in bed at 830 pm. Basically move the entire time in some way. This includes gym 3 days a week. Backed off from.5 do to recovery issues. Walling the dogs, probably get 10-15k steps in maybe more. I do not have a c pap. Going to get on that. I take 2iu hgh before bed. The only thing I'm not doing is daily fasted cardio like I should. And no medications other then the amlodipine. I was on more but had some anxiety issues so got off everything and started adding things back in one at a time. How much can stress contribute? This all seemed to start a year a ago I was running a construction site and shit went to hell. Lol. Anxiety kicked up there too

Fasted cardio is not better for blood pressure or fat loss than any other cardio.

If you don't get fasted cardio in the morning then not all is lost. You can still do it later in the day and get the same benefits.
