Bottle Top Filters and Media Bottles

I'm trying to get everything together for my first brew and am having the following issues:

The main issue is that I want a media bottle that I can slap a cap (with septa) on top of after removing the filter.

The nalgene filters do not state the neck size of the filter bottom.

Most filters are 45mm and medlabsupply has the 45mm caps with holes for attachable septas. HOWEVER, the septas are out of stock.

There are 33mm caps with septas in stock but I'm having a problem finding the appropriate bottle top filter/media bottle combo to accommodate a 33mm cap.


Any help would be greatly appreciated bros... been on the hunt for a couple days now and all the info on medlabsupply for their products is ambiguous at best.

Friendly bump...

This is putting a major bump in my homebrew road.

Am I right to assume that this would be the best route to avoid getting any particles from the air into the media vial with the filtered product?

Just buy a separate glass media jar with the size you need. I use whatman Zapcap with a separate glass media jar and septa.

Septas seem to be in stock, just ordered some myself. The only nalgene filters I saw that didn't designate the neck size were the ones that come complete with the media bottle.

Look at that, lol. I found the 33mm neck media bottles.

For future reference... the mobile version of the website does not have the search filters on the left margin of the page. Felt like I real r-tard when I hoped on the laptop to have a look and it said "33mm Wheaton Media Bottles" in bold letters over there
